Hello Im new, hope this works!

Hello, I had a nervous breakdown a couple of years ago & have gained 4 stone, not a good look for someone who is 5'1!
Ive been in denial since then, avoiding the scales, mirrors & clothes shopping, but tonight I weighed myself, I knew it would hurt, but I did it & 12.6 & now something needs to be done!
Im someone who doesnt talk about my problems, hence the comfort eating. Im hoping this forum will give me a boost & help get my life back on track.
Ive been unemployed since the nervous breakdown, I have felt so wretched & awkward in interviews so my 2 goals are this, to get back to my old weight & get a job.
Ive tried a couple of things, but I always crumble, so this time instead of hiding from the scales Ive used my weight as my username as a reminder to try & keep my will solid.
I hope I can be one of your success stories :break_diet:
 
Hi and welcome. have you given any thought as to how to lose the pounds? Between us, we use a lot of different diets. Have a look and see what you fancy and if stuck just ask

Let us know when you decide.

I havent decided what diet to choose yet, Im abit overwhelmed with the ammount of different diets there are to choose from. And I read alot of contradictions around the internet. One that I saw recently had me bewildered. I saw on a tv programme a few years ago that when you are dieting you can eat as much fruit as you want inbetween meals. But then the other day I read that fruit is high in carbs & that you cant eat it all the time.
To loose weight I will cut out all the snacks & Im planning to ride my bike twice a day. Hopefully my resolve wont crumble. Does this diet plan sound like an idea that will work?
Ive been reading your stories on here, well done everyone you are all an inspiration :)
 
:welcome: to minimins :) there is a lot to choose from isnt there! i think cutting down on your food intake and getting excercise on your bike is a great start hun xx
 
Thanks guys, Im still abit skeptic though, I dont think Ive ever lost weight only gained it :( so Im worried about weighing myself at the end of the week. I will leave it 2 weeks I think.
 
Welcome hun, I think we all have reasons of why we gained the weight in the first place but its wen we get our act together to change our lives, its then we begin to make the difference. Ya have made the hugest step so far and well done for getting your life on the right track. If ya ever need help or support drop a line!! Try and take each day as it comes and don't weigh yourself every day as ya will only get disappointed, I personally wouldnt leave it to 2 weeks but to do it weekly instead. Keep posting chick and let us know how ya get on.
