How long should I stay on LT

Do you really, really want to come off?

Thing is, if it's just for one night- do you think it is really worth going through all the hassle of a week's worth of re-feed. Only reason I'm asking is because at the beginning of September I had to go away with work for a couple of days and was seriously contemplating a re-feed as it was just me and one other colleague. In the end I decided to stay on LT. I had to go to a restaurant and not eat (which was interesting) but I have done this twice since then and find it very easy and the staff just accept it.

Then again, if it is more important for you to celebrate in the traditional manner- make sure you do the complete re-feed package the week before as I'm sure a couple of bevvies will be had. Just prepare yourself properly for when you are about to re-start. I would suggest laying off the carbs a couple of days before beginning LT again as this will stop withdrawal headaches.

Good luck with whatever you decide xxx

Its honestly totally up to you...I have been to b/day parties done my 5yr olds party & recently i had to take my autistic son to the town hall for an awards night where they had an all you can eat buffet(which looked delish i must say)but i was very good & stayed totally focused on all occasions, knowing its only day/eve & id have my shake after to fill me up instead & then i wouldn't have to re-live the 1st wk again...good luck! whatever you decide

true, comming off and then going back on is the pits.If you are sure you want 2 eat that night why not stick to a no carb night like fish meat eggs and cheese and diet coke etc that way at least you will still be in ketosis and you wont have 2 go through first week hell again and you wont regain. I think it depends what kind of dieter eater you are I am not willing 2 come off for occasions cause I know its to soon if I ate now I never go back on. good luck with whateve you decide. I would come off it on the monday if the party is on friday or sat but refeed properly ie. 2shakes one meal for 2 nights then 1 shake 2 meals low carb of course...

Like others have said it's up to you. If you will def eat that night you can either refeed the week before or you might get away with only eating meat & veg and drinking spirits with soda water.

Either way, get straight back on the plan the next day - if you leave it any longer it'll be sooo hard to restart!

when you get to goal in a nut shell

When you get to a weight and size you feel happy with, That's what I am aiming for..Come off it when you feel happy and content within you're skin! :):)

My daughter is also 18 in a couple of weeks so i understand how difficult the choice is.I will only have been on lipotrim for 3 weeks then so im in a dillema i dont want to spoil it for her if i dont eat.You are only 18 once.
She also hates me doing meal replacements as ive done lighterlife before and then put it all back on again:confused::confused::confused:

I wouldnt refeed if I were you...imagine going through all that first week again! Im sure your daughter wont mind as you are trying to get healthy for her and she will have other birthdays.

If you have to, completely have to, then refeed the week before. But think about what's more important...a night of drinking and eating, or a lifetime of celebrating with your family at a healthy weight?

Good luck with whatever you decide.

To be totally honest I wouldn't come off LT until you are at your target but that is me. I've been on it for 24 weeks and in that time it has been my birthday, wedding anniversary, my eldest 16th, my youngest's birthday party as well as several other parties, barbeques and other social occasions. It is my OH's birthday later this month and he knows that I still won't be off LT by then, in fact I shall probably be on till Christmas. You can have fun and celebrate without food or booze and know you will get to target quicker if you do.

But I know everyone is different and if you really want to come off and then restart then make sure you do a proper refeed in the week beforehand. Do be aware that LT have changed their policy and I'm sure someone on here said that you may have to wait 6 months to start again so unless you have a chemist that hasn't heard that or is okay with you doing this then you may not be able to restart this side of Christmas.

You must do what is right for you but I'd recommend staying on.

cheers for the good advice. I've been thinking "will I come off LT completely in nov and continue dieting on W.watchers or continue LT ? I want to lose five stone.I started weighing 16.13 lost 7Ibs last week lost 1Ib this week which I am very happy with cos I had a bad week last wk. I broke the diet and drank very little water. Have it in my mind to try harder with drinking water but maybe lukwarm not cold.

Guess that makes two of us I did LT before lost 3 stone and put it all back on through my own fault.I know my daughter would prefer me to eat "normal" with everyone on the night.Think I will try out having fish &veg. I know I uesd to dring vodkaand soda water last time and still lost weight.so I think thats what I will do. cheers for the advice.:)

Suppose thats why we do a weekly weigh in, can't stay on LT 4 too long or we'll have to learn the art of eating again!!

Like cuddly fairy I have had many social engagements when on LT, (now on CD810) and just stuck to the plan.

I would advise sticking to LT, however, you have to decide for yourself what you think is best for you.

some people do have trouble getting back on track again a second time, so think carefully about it.
