Some 790 questions.

Focused & goin for goal!
Hi. I’m on week 8 of VLCD (first couple of weeks were LL and the rest is CD). I have only done one weekend on AAM and quite enjoyed it. My next meal will be over Christmas where I intend to do a few days on AAM and xmas and boxing day on 790.

This has got me thinking about the 790 plan. When should I start it? I am currently 12st 10lbs. I’m aiming to lose about another 2st (ish) to reach my goal. I think I read somewhere that you shouldn’t SS if you have a BMI of 25 or less. I will be 11st when I get to this BMI. Should I go on 790 then? I’m not sure but I also thought I read that you should be 1 stone over a BMI of 25 when you start 790 (I may have just made that up though!!) If that is the case, I should be thinking of doing that in the new year as I should be at 12st by then!! (yay!!)

Are the losses any good? To be honest, I’m a bit frightened of 790 because I like losing and I cant see how I will!!! :( My losses have been ok – usually between 2.5 and 4lb ish.
On the other hand, I’m also thinking that 790 might be a good idea. Can you exercise on the 790? I’m not doing any at the moment as I don’t think I’d have the energy!! Maybe if I did 790 and also exercised I might still have good losses? (and could maybe tone up a little)

What do you think? When should I start 790?

Cheers :D

Hi Flojam

Can't offer any advice - but at the same weight as you and have also been wondering about the same thing. You must be a bit taller (I'm 5.4) because I don't hit BMI 25 until 10.5. I am wondering is it better to eat more and exercise more or eat less are not exercise (as too knackered).

Hi Dani

Hmmm, not sure about the BMI thing now!! I'm thought I was 5ft 5 but my fiance measured me last week and informed me that I'm 5'4"!! I'd worked out that I'd be about 11st (just over) by the time I get to BMI 25. Just checked this again
If I was 5'5" and had BMI 25, I would be 150lbs (10st 10lbs). However, if I am actually 5'4'' I'd have to aim for 146lbs (10st 6 :() Now not sure which!! Pants!

Maybe I should see how I go over xmas and then think about doing 790 regardless of my BMI?? (scary!) Depends on the losses really.

I've just moved over to the 790 plan as I started exercising and then found I was hungry which has now gone since I've started eating one meal a day.

I was also like you worried about effect on weight loss - and haven't done a full week but when I was looking into it I found the following threads - which you may find interesting if you haven't already seen them

PS: I am really enjoying having a meal a day :D

I have been on the 790 plan for about a month now. Went for a weigh-in yesterday (10 days since the last one) and had lost 9lbs:) . Now I think that is a pretty good weight loss. I have continued to keep up my water intake and although my sticks dont show me as being in ketosis I never feel hungry.I love having my 2 or 3 cups of tea, with skimmed milk as I really missed my hot drinks. I have about 10 pounds to go to my personal goal and then am moving on to 1000 plan. It really does seem the right thing to do, to move through each stage at a time.
Good luck on the 790 plan:)

That's a good loss!! Well done! :D

Think I have moved a little closer to making a decision.

Do people find they have more energy on this plan?

One more very important question: Is it ok to exercise on 790?

Many thanks :)

Also, my other hald is doing SSing too and is thinking of doing 790. On the CD site it says that when you do AAM, you have 3 or 4 Cambridge meals (I assume that's the packs). But on 790 it says 3 cambridge meals. As my OH is a fella and is on 4 packs anyway, if he did 790 would he still have 4 packs or would he have to drop down to 3?
Many thanks :)
