I have been in so much pain this last week with tennis elbow injury...have been suffering for a while with it, but have been afraid to take ibruprofen as people & pharmacy said i could not take it...so have'nt even been able to even post on here much, as it has been killing me..

anyway went to the hospital today, had it checked again just to make sure it wasn't anything else..but they said its deffo tennis elbow.. so decided to call lipotrim direct...they said it was fine to take ibruprofen, and it will not knock me out of ketosis?..i blinking hope this is right, as i have now taken 3 doses today, and finally the pain is dissappearing!...thankgod...hence i can type now, and post!!..lol:)

Just wondered if anyone has heard of them knocking you out of ketosis?

cheers

I don't think it knocks you out of ketosis. However ibruprofen is supposed to be taken with food as prolonged consumption of it on an empty stomach can lead to ulcers xxx

Or maybe it is the sugar coated loveliness that helps them go down!

when i took my prescription to the hospital pharmacy, i asked for none sugar coated ones...so i managed to get a high dosage without a coating...lol...they did ask a few questions...but i just said i was alergic to sugar!!..

so hopefully i will be fine...i will try not to pop too many...

Well, I hope it sorts your problem out!

I'm sure you won't be on them long enough to cause any ulcers xxx

i took em , as was only think in the home at time, never did me any harm, but every one diff, ;)

I doubt they'll knock you out of ketosis as long as they arent sugar coated but be careful as Medea is right...Ibuprofen and the like on an empty stomach isnt a good idea! Hope you'll feel better soon! xxx

Will make sure I take one after my shake from now on...:)

today i didnt take them after the shakes, i was in so much pain...i just wanted to get them down me as soon as i could lol...god what a difference...feels like i have my life back...as i really couldnt post on here, the pain was that bad!!!... but i was having withdrawal symptoms!!!

Remember though, you should only take 3 400mg doses of Ibuprofen a day, you can take paracetamol as well (1 or 2 500mg tabs up to four times a day). If you combine these two you can take pain relief almost every two hours during the day.

If you have been prescribed a higher dose of Ibuprofen then that's OK - just make sure you don't take more than you are allowed

thanks Helen...my elbow was so swollen...and so bad, the doc prescibed 600mg to take 3 times a day..plus the paracetomal too!!!.. but have only taken x2 of them.. hopefully by tommorrow, the sweeling will have gone down loads, and i wont need to take all 3 doses...thanks hun.:)

Glad they are working already - don't wait til you are in agony before you take more though - that's just daft!;)

You'll be back on that tennis court in no time:D

you can get ibuprofen gel too.... rub it straight on to the hurty bit! no probs with sugar-coating that way...

good thought...never crossed my mind to use a gel...dont want to give up my surfing sport, if this continues!!!

At least it's not Housemaid's knee!
BTW - some of the gels can stain your clothes so beware
