FAO: CDC's - Do you have a seperate area in your house to see clients?

lillypop

now got pictures in album
My CDC was talking to me about being a CDC and I would love to. I was just wondering, how many of you have a seperate room, like the spare room or dining room etc. to see your clients or is it just anywhere in the house? She said that I would have to find somewhere in the house that would be quiet from everywhere and set up there which I could do, but do you set it up like a sort of counselling room? She does it on the dining room table you see, and I just wanted to gather more information from other CDC's so prepare!

Hiya

Different ways of doing it really, some CDC's do it in their normal rooms which is cool if it works for them and their clients.

I have converted the garage into an office so I have enough space for stocks, clients, scales and my board to put up successful slimmers !! :)

I see my clients in my kitchen. to be fair its a long room with cooking area at one end and table at the other.
I am careful with times and I try to ensure I am not cooking when I see clients and there are no cooking smells either, but sometimes it can't be helped. :)

That's a really cool idea Mike, do you have loads of pictures up etc. of your own success?

A few yes but prefer it is about the dieters and not me as they need to realise they create their own success and hence I talk about them 99% and me 1%

hehe yes, my CDC is often making dinner, I am at a stage now where I can smell it but not want to eat it, but yes I know what you mean!!

I have a spare room so I could use that.

I also have 4 cats so I dont think bringing people into the living room would be too great unless people like cats and you just never know do you!! most of my mates hate them!!! haha

Im allgeric to cats.

I'm allergic too!
My CDC uses her dining room. Her stock etc is on her shelves in there.
It works quite well as it's the first room through her front door and people don't have to traipse through her house :)

I see mine in her dining room at the breakfast bar....

Mine uses her lovely dining room, she has six children, so they are around, but it is really nice. She has a huge table and a cupboard with stock, I enjoy going and feel as though my success is important. :)

a lot of my mates are allergic to cats! So I've decided that if I do it then I will use the spare room which will be the first room at the top of the stairs. I will kit it all out and make it all nice!! I'm so excited! Got to lose just over 3 stone first though before I can apply!! :D

I'm lucky to have a converted garage spare room on the side of my house with its own entrance and loo. It used to be a granny annexe and now we use it for all sorts of things, spare room, extra tv room, gym, adult sitting room and now consulting room.

The only problem is my kids always come in 'to use the loo' just about every consultation. I know they are nosey, especially as its all new but I hope I don't put the customers off.

see mine in the kitchen, and all of her sachets are in one of those metal veg racks

she gives you a box, then tells you to fill it with what you want, i pay her, and she puts it in a metal cash box, and that is it.

mine has one of those shed come posh 'out building' things that she has kitted out in the garden, its not really a shed but cant think of the right description!

I was also thinking of starting later, after i move to devon, its appealing as you get your supplies at cost price and also there is an income to be made from sponsoring others. looks good. good luck, i am sure you will be great.
