Just started this, well Im a cheapskate cos Im using misses books, she goes and I read her books, lol.

The diet seems brilliant, and half way through day one I aint a big hungry and its great, my problem is evening times, I know people say you should not eat before bed which I dont, but the couple of hours before bed when watching TV etc, thats hard, are you still able to eat free food at night? what time should you eat upto?

Also is free food really free? I mean I know you stop when your full, but surely there is a limit?

Free Food is Free yes. I tend not to eat past 7pm if I can help it because thats more through choice than anything else.

If you know evening are the time you want to eat then I would suggest working that into your diet. Popcorn is great as a munchy and only a few syns for quite a large amount. Also Fridge raiders (if you do red days) are only 2 syns per bag and are great as a snack.

Good Luck x

Nightwolfs nocturnal munchies!

Hi Nightwolf welcome to the site! Why dont you have a free cooked brekkie of bacon, two poached eggs, grilled mushrooms,a large tin tomatoes.Add wholemeal bread as a hx and a mug of tea/coffee?Then have two weetabix with a banana chopped on top, mug of tea/coffee,when you feel peckish.I do this and have lost 23lbs steadily in 8 weeks!I used to eat bread in sandwiches and as toast all day so have cut down from 6/8 thick wholemeal to 2 slices medium per day.Havent been hungry once!Fill up on free food and drink at least 8 glasses of water per day,it fills you up,clears toxins and your metabolism needs water to work properly.I have lots of energy, feel great. Also my weightloss doctor told me to go back on Prozac(took it a while back)to keep my mood up and even,so I dont backslide into over eating.Sorry for waffling!Read all the other links everyone is friendly and will answer questions you may have.We are like a Wonderbra we give lots of support!!lol Maz

Thankss, is there any good tips for training yourself to drink more water cos its something I have been struggling with for years i never drink enough

When I first started I hated drinking just water, now I drink 2/3 litres a day on average. It is difficult to start with but after a few days you will find that the more water you drink, the more water your body will want. If you are not a water drinker at all then I would suggest subtituting two or three of your daily drinks to water and take it from there. The way I did it was I took a litre bottle of water to work and made sure that I drank it all during my work day. I then started to take 2 litres to work. I then have my drink of choice in the evening. Water is good for filling you up too.

Hi there and welcome...

Why not find something you can do to keep your hands busy when watching the telly...I know that sounds daft but if they are busy your mind will be busy and you will not be thinking of food and have the telly on in the background to watch too.

I hate the food adverts ... everywhere you look they are there hahaha!!! BAN THEM I SAY lol

Water is so good for the system... but not only that.. when the body dehydrates you loose lack of concentration.. it helps keep all your vital organs functioning.. and we don't want them stopping now do we haha.... also helps to hydrate the skin... hense aiding to stop the signs of aging.....how about adding a slice of lemon or some sliced fruit to it to give it a bit of flavour and something to munch on when you get to the bottom of it!!

Keep drinking hehe... happy slimming and looking forward to reading about your journey x

Free food is defo free, i work shifts, so i regularly eat after 7, sometimes even 8 by the time i get home, when i do get home that late i try to have somthing light like an omlette or eggs on toast and some fruit and yoghurt.
Good luck with ur SW journey, this is a great site full of friendly helpful people and lots of advice! :D

I eat right up until i go to bed some nights lol. We don't eat diner til about 6ish, then if i'm hungry about 9 or 10 i'll grab a quick snack :)

As for the water, i have it with no-added-sugar squash - the tesco double concentrated one is lovely :)

oh yeah that tesco one is the best, im glad i discovered it, lasts so long and tastes delicious!!!

I sometimes don't have dinner until 7, and after that I sometimes have a yogurt. Then before bedtime I usually have two mugs of cocoa and 2 alpen light bars (3.5 syns each or two is a hex B). I couldn't do SW this long if I wasn't allowed a little munch in the evenings!

Also my weightloss doctor told me to go back on Prozac(took it a while back)to keep my mood up and even,so I dont backslide into over eating.

that surprised me when i read that - i used to take anti-depressants and they made me gain about 6 stone as they made my appetite insatiable!

Ahhh yes I have heard this.. some suppress and some don't... pot luck I guess!

Good thing though now you are doing something about it. :D

I'm afraid to admit I don't drink water at all - as water, that is lol. I drink weak decaffinated tea all day long instead which has the added advantage of using up my skimmed milk allowance too. I was told by our SW consultant that as long as you get enough liquid then it doesn't have to be just water.

I take St Johns Wort in the autumn and winter as I suffer from SAD. About three years ago my doctor prescribed Prozac for my depression without realising what was causing it - fortunately I had nasty side effects so had to come off it after a month and tried St Johns Wort after reading an article about it, and have been fine ever since. I don't take it through the summer (although maybe I should have done after the summer we've just had!) but it stops me sinking into a deep depression every winter and doesn't increase my appetite.

I don't eat late in the evening at all, as I suffer from indigestion if I eat later than about 8.00pm, so I can't help on that one Nightwolf. Good luck with the diet.:)

i sometimes eat right till i go to bed i like to have my free foods during the day then at night i can munch on hexas and bs i usually have 1 of my alpen bars or a hi fi bar cheese sarnie muller lite and sometimes french fries ooh what a feast !!!!

im a late eater, ill have breakfast, lunch and tea and not snack then after dinner from about 7 just want to pig out. and i do, just on free food rather than choc etc like i used to. it hasnt affected my loss at all so if thats how you want to do it why not. i would feel deprived if i didnt. i have always been brought up eating on an evening, my parents dont eat til 8/9 in the evening and my dad always sits in front of the telly with cheese/pickles/wine and used to always make us a 'picnic' to go to bed with when we were young - cheese, chopped fruit, pickles that sort of thing. so yea eat if you want i do

Is it true that tinned stewing steak is free on a red day?
