questions cdc training

hi,
Can anyone tell me how long the whole process is from sending away your app, to becoming a cdc?
Also once my cdc starts sponsering me, will i have to spend more time with her training, as she is 2 hour drive away, so i only see her every 2 weeks.

I`m not seeing her to discuss this for 2 weeks, and im too impatient to wait for the answers.

I'm part way through the process and have found it quite a long one! I think on average you are looking at a couple weeks from when you send off your application until you recieve notification of a telephone interview. Then often that isn't for another couple of weeks. Once you've had the telephone interview and passed, they will put you on the next available training course, of which there is roughly 1 a month. After the training you are given some modules to complete. Once you've completed them and sent them it can then take up to 3-4 weeks before you recieve your accreditation (assuming all was ok with your modules)! You can then start counselling, but also have a further training course a few weeks later. Your sponsor will then act as a guide and they do advise you meet with them on a regular basis - I'm intending to meet with mine once a month, but for anything else I'm sure a phone call to them would suffice!
