Hey there Paul.. Firstly.. welcome to minimins.. We're a nice friendly bunch.. Honest..! hehe..

Well done on the 2 and a half stone.!! what kind of diet plan are you following?

x x

it's my own plan it's called ehh (thinks of a name) it's called "the hungry plan" lol

basicly i start off in the morning with some rice krispies then i have nothing to eat all day till about 5 pm

i have chicken or fish and rice or but insted of have a big meal at once i spit this into 2

have half and a coffee and go the gym
do 1 hour and 20 mins on a cross trainer
then come home have my second half of my dinner and some fruit

dispite the plan name im not hungry doing this at all lol

ive only been doing it this way for just over a week and ive lost 4 lbs in this week

the rest was lost slowly by going the gym but not really changing foods

Hey Paul, I know what you mean about feeling as though you are missing out. I've avoided going out and meeting people because of my weight and it's been a life-long problem for me and I'm older than you (38) :D It looks like you have made progress and support could be the thing that makes a difference. I'm currently on Lipotrim, total food replacement, but thinking about moving to Cambridge Diet because there is a better range of flavours. Good luck whatever you decide to do and I certainly think this forum is the place to celebrate your losses and get support when it's all too much. ;)

I can sympathise as well, I've lost count of the number of times I've missed out on social events purely because I was too ashamed of my weight.

It's good you're losing but I think you'll struggle with a plan like that long term and it's probably better to have three meals a day and spread them out more evenly. I'm doing Slimming World which works for me because you can eat loads and not feel hungry. But there's lot of choice out there and you'll find advice here from people doing all sorts of diets. Good luck whichever route you take!

cheers for the welcome very kind :)

i stopped smoking a few years ago and from then i started piling on weight

hit about 20 stone 6lbs just after xmas and
started hitting the gym didnt lose it very fast at all but since xmas ive lost 36 lbs and i'm still a non smoker :D

last week started the new plan to try and speed things up abit

i have to say it's not bothering me living this way and the fact that i lost 4 lbs in one week is a boost i really needed :)

hi paul,

welcome to minis. Im sure you will find lots of help and support here as everyone is lovely. congrats on your weight loss so far.

Welcome to Minimins. You sound really determined

The only thing you may find is your weight loss may stop if you eat so little. It might work short term but longer term that really doesnt sound as if youll be eating anywhere near enough, especially being male and exercising. Might be worth considering a more structured plan soon.

Hiya Paul,

You seem to have made a strong start and the main thing is the head that you have pointed in the right direction.

Great bunch in here - very supportive and everyone loves to share in others success.

I'm sure you've had a great look around and read some of the amazing diaries and storys that are contained in this place.

Inspirational stuff AND life changing.

and believe me - lives do change and its never too late.

Just one year of happiness can make the sad and depressing past seem almost as if it never happened to you.

and Bev's right - some real nice ladies in here LOL (they get nicer during the meets as the red wine/vodka etc flows)

Go for it!
