Any docs in the house? Got thing on my leg and bit worried!!!

Slimming for my children
Basically its a bit gross but thought as I am on here I may ask away!

Since May this thing has been on my leg.
It started off the size of a pin prick and is now the size of three pound coins? best way to describe.

I have been docs 6 or 7 times and last time I went I was being refered for a biopsy. And the waiting list could be 6 to 10 weeks.
Now its only recently become very very sore and now tonight my whole leg is tingleing and a bit numb?

If your not sqeumish and know about skin disorders please let me know what you think?
I thought it was psoriasis but its only this one part of my leg and its getting bigger and bigger!

I dont know what you have hun...have you tried to go back to the doctor??
I went to bed on the day before my 18th birthday with a spot the size of a pin head....basically it just looked like a pimple and when i woke up in the morning it was sooo painful and about half the size of yours.
The doctor told my that mine was a strep infection in my leg and he had to open it..ewww and i had to put antibiotic cream in it and wash it 3 times a day......i limped around for my 18th. :(

it does look a bit like psoriasis... have you had any before.... my sis has it really really bad, and the first time it started liek a pin prick on her leg and got bigger x
 
I usually go to WebMD when I'm worried although to be honest, it's never really helped me! Plus it could scare you more than help you, but still, thought I'd mention.

I am being a bit of a nancy i think but just concerened as its not felt numb before and my whole leg feels numb! I flew home from south africa holiday this morning and didnt have any sleep and have now convinced myself that i will wake up and will have to have my leg removed. H2b keeps saying go back to docs but i have been so many times and been given so many creams and potions that I feel embarrased and that I am wasting their time? Know what I mean?
The 6 weeks is up tomorrow from when they said I would have a biopsy so hopefully another 4 weeks until I get a letter to say I can see what it is, i just hope it doesnt grow at the rate its growing as its really painful and I cant lean on it as its so sore and my whole leg feels streatched if that makes sense??

I dunno thats my own interpritation to be honest, its in one place and thats it.
How do you get rid of it? As i just dont want any scars.

regular use of the lotions and potions..... does it flake any dry skin?

I would definately go back to the dr's!!!
 
Yea its really REALLY itchy and now really really sore. the Skin goes like flaps? And then when i have abath they go and then i itch and it produces like a film of white skin over it?
 
from looking at the pic and you saying that... i am almost certain it is psoriasis.... go see the doc again x
 
Ok I will go and see her tomorrow. Is psoriasis dangerous? I am really sorry if i sound stupid but its only from what I have seen on that embarrasing illnesesses lol and if i can diagnose it then why cant 3 different docs? It just astounds me.

it's said to be caused by stress.... my sis has had it for 22 years... it started liek yours on both calves...... than went really bad... she had to go into hosp for it treated for weeks.... it did clear than some years later... just started up again....

It's just the pain, itchiness, flaking skin, etc and the skin can feel stretched and tight. I think the doctor should give medication to releive these symptoms, i dont think it's dangerousx
 
thanks. I am almost certain it is then. I just wish i could get some answers and medication from the docs.
I dunno what stress I could be carrying but then again it could be coming out cos of stress over the last two years I dunno. But i am so happy and content at the moment its madness.

i'd imagine if it's got bigger since the last time you saw a gp they will have a better idea of what it is. i'd definately go back to the doctors asap as your symptoms have got worse by the sounds of it.
 
just called. got an appointment for tomo at 11am! Apparently you have to call the day before to get an appointment... ho hum!

I have had a skin condition on my hands for the last 2 years.. tried everything.. lotions potions spiritual healing chinese herbs the lot.. anyhoo the thing I am using now has worked miracles.. Johnsons 24 hour moisture care cream, you can get it in shower gel body lotion and hand cream.. obviously wouldnt advice anyone to go ahead and use it without seeing a doctor first but if you have been diagnosed with eczema or psoriasis give it whirl...use regularly to keep your skin moisturised. :D
