Hi all

I have been reading this site for ages but have been too shy to post!

I feel that if l dont do something about my weight l will die! lm 38, live in Dublin, l have a 10 year old daughter who l cant keep up with and since being made redundant l just eat and sleep. l find l just dont want to do anything and now l discover lm 22 stone!! heaviest ever.

lm so glad that this site exists and lve learned so much already and the slide show is truly inspiring! l think l will try the cambridge diet and l have tracked down a counsellor in Dublin so since its the weekend l will ring her Monday.

l would love to hear from anyone as having locked myself away for so long l hardly go out - well lm not reclusive but l mean socially, l have a nice boyfriend and he is supportive and my mam is too, even my little one would love to see her mam slim and happy - sorry for ranting on lm usually upbeat but having lost the struggle with this weight lm fed up!

cheers guys n gals

Well thats the first brave thing done, posting on here! So Monday is the day for number two, contacting a CDC.

I've not been here long and already been made feel very welcome. There is always someone who has heard of or expereinced the things you are.

I am sure you will feel at home and grow in confidence the longer you stick around.

Well done for making the first steps x

I was 23 stone 4lbs 6 months ago, I know how you feel and when I say that I really mean it. I am now in the 16's and still going. This is the best diet I have ever done. It has given me my life back. It is like carrying your own coffin around with you waiting to have a heart attack or something. I still feel like that but I know I am in the right direction. Please please please contact a CDC and start on it as soon as possible if you are healthy enough to do so!! xx

Congratulations on overcoming your fear and taking this first positive step hun. We are all here to help and support eachother. Good luck on Monday, make the call and take that next step.

xxxx

Good luck with CD, it is amazing! I am currently about 22.5 stone and started at 24.5 stone, so know how you feel. It's horrendous being so heavy, but CD makes it feel realistic to get to target. You will be fine. Keep us up to date with how you do x

Welcome Leilak!
As you will see, you are not alone with your feelings - we have all been there!
Some have lost their weight and are maintaining - some are on their journey to being healthier and some are lurking and contemplating how to lose the weight.
I love this very supportive site and I am sure that you will get all the support you need.
Take a holiday from food - enjoy the powerful confidence boost from the amazing losses you will experience.
Good luck and keep posting xx

welcome Leilak, I too haven't been here that long either but small or large amounts to lose, everyone is made to feel very welcome.
Start to look forward and you will soon be well on your way...
Good luck...

As everyone has said, you've done a great thing towards losing the weight just by joining this site and being brave enough to post! Although I didn't do the diet myself, I have been totally amazed by just how successful everyone has been on the Cambridge diet on here. You've made a good choice, and there's a fantastic bunch of people on here that have been where you are, or are where you are now also.

Good luck with getting started! It's the beginning of a whole new you!

Hi Leilak,
I have been reading the posts on this site for a long time & everyone on here is truly inspirational - so much so that I bit the bullett (and my last chocolate) on 11th Sept. I can honestly say it has been the best decision I have ever made.

I weighed in at 16st 5lb and at my 1st weigh in last week I lost an amazing 10lbs. This diet really is my answer & I hope that you find it is yours too.

Good Luck

Stacey.x

thanks so much everyone - just a couple of questions how much does prog cost ? and would it be better to totally abstain from food or do 2 food packs and one meal?

Hi Leilak the diet costs around £37ish per week - well worth the money in my opinion! Your CDC will advise you which programme will suit you, the price above is for three CD meals a day. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress.
