CD Porridge & Hunger Levels?

Hi all,

As my avatar says, I'm lovin' the new CD porridge. Having read so many posts about it on here, it definitely seems to be a Marmite-like situation...either love it or hate it!

Whilst I love it, I wonder if anyone else has noticed they have been considerably more hungry on days when they include porridge (even one pack)?

Or is it just me?

I live in Ireland and for some daft reason we won't get it over here yet ????????? BUT i'm lucky enough to have a CDC friend over there in the UK and she's a lickle star who posted me over 3 sample packs,,,,,I'm waiting till I'm starvin marvin to try them (anything to assist the 'ol tastebuds) but I love reading poeples opinions on the porridge, your the first NON-CDC that I've come across that actually likes the stuff (please note to other readers, I've said that I've come across, NOT that exists :giggle: I'll be keeping an eye on this thread hoping to hear from others who've tasted the porridge, i've a feeling it'll be more Ready Brek consistency, but thats ok for me, cuz as a child I loved Ready Brek, I often imagined me walking down the road with the RED surrounding Glow :p

Hi BBlilsis,

I remember the Ready Brek ads, with orange glow kids too!

CD porridge is sort of like Ready Brek, but with gorgeous lumpy bits in that taste like cookie dough (not really selling the concept very well, am I??!!).

Just noticed the hunger thing since eating the stuff, let me know how you get on.

MMMmmmmm as long as its gorgeous tasty lumpy bits and not lumpy dry powder bits:giggle: I'm lucky enough to have been sent samples so either way its a win-win situation, I really hope it is nice, cuz the winter evenings are coming upon us and it would be really nice to come home to a nice bowl of porridge,,,yep I am a freak, cuz i'd prefer to have the porridge in the evenings rather than the mornings, I think a hot mug of coffee is good enough to try to replace breakfast options...I ain't naming what normal breakfast options are, cuz we're all different, and my normal breakfast options led me to being on a VLCD to repair the damage I've been doing to myself :p

Totally agree.

My brekkie is black coffee these days, nice big mug of the stuff.

And porridge in the evening!

I found that also. I had the porridge for the first time today and this afternoon i was a bit peckish.
Another thing I have had today was the cappuchino and I didnt like it very much, I found it didnt taste of anything much, was I supposed to put a spoon of coffee in it?

Hmmm, I did that (coffee in the Lactose-Free Capuccino) and it was bearable!

Not one o my faves at all, nearly as bad (IMHO) as Lactose-Free Choc-Orange *shudder*

Ive not had porridge yet, I will try some when my cdc is back of his jollys. I cant wait to try it.

Choc orange, yuk yuk yuk.
Cappacino deff needs a spoonful of coffee in it to make it drinkable.

oh i love the porridge, even though i hated porridge before i started cd !
i too have been having my porrige in the evenings, i suppose i have been feeling a bit peckish afterwards but not really hungry.
i am having to ration my porridge as i only got 5 in case i didnt like them. this means i wont be having any for a couple of days now, so i will let you know whether i fell any more /less hungry after my eve "meal"

Personally I find it really fills me up and actually satisfies my hunger - which no other CD pack has (I know it's my mental hunger - but still :)). It keeps me full for longer.

I guess everyone is different ;)

am sat here with me bowl of porridge as i type, lol
i like it thou took a couple of trys before i was sure i liked it

cant say ive noticed a difference in hunger levels but will watch for it now

Hi everyone,

I know what you mean re hunger after porridge, but i think for me it's because it really makes me feel full when i've eaten it and so my tum feels sort of heavy, once that feeling has gone i wonder if i'm hungry, i don't think i actually am but the porridge is the only meal that i get a total sense of beeing full up from. I love it!

No, im eating choccy porridge as I type and I find it a real treat and incredibly satisfyingand i have a bar and shake and am defintely not hungry by the end of the day.

~Ohhh how do you make it?
xx

Hiya, I have had two porridge days now and actually for me I was very filled up <bad grammar> The first bowl I had trouble finishing the bowl and the second left me feeling stuffed.
The taste was also better second time around although the smell for me is off putting.
I do drink half a litre of water with my porridge meals though, maybe that helps me feel full for longer?
I am def going to try choc porridge I am so unimaginative with my food packs. That sounds yummy.

Ive found that porridge does the opposite it really fills me up and keeps me going longer than the bars or shakes do. I add extra water to mine so its less thick and its a yummy tummy filler.

I love it, think it tastes wonderful. But it gives me the munchies... BADLY!! IS a real head challenge after I have it not to raid the cupboards.

Do love the taste, but think I might have to stop having it.

I think its because it must still be there in our tummies absorbing water and gurgling etc coz its got lumps in it lol
