Hello,

I am TTC at the moment and have been for a couple of weeks but I have PCOS and I am also obese so need to lose some weight before ive got any chance of falling pregnant.

I have been on cambridge a couple of times and done really well but always stopped because of boredom, money, social reasons etc basically excuses!!

I am really hoping to fall pregnant fairly quickly and I have heard that VLCD's can boost fertility, any more info on this? I would really give CD a go if i thought it was the answer to getting the baby we want so much!

Thanks guys xx

The thing you will find about CD and PCOS, that due to the sudden weight drop, your body releases all the hormones it has stored in fat stores. This seems to result in pregnancy for some people

As a fellow PCOS'er I'm sure you are sick of hearing the mantra of "lose weight to manage you symptoms" but honestly a reduction of even 10% of your weight will improve your PCOS management.

Plus without sounding harsh a couple of weeks is not a lot of time to be panicking, docs usually tell you to come back if nothings happened in a year! (sorry but don't want you stressing over a few weeks, when you should be enjoying the trying, and panicking that no Pos tests over the past few weeks)

Whatever you decide, GOOD LUCK!

I might have not been clear enough, im not worried that im not pregnant in just a couple of weeks but have heard that people with fertility problems within a month or so of SS or VLCD have fell pregnant just looking for any success stories! lol xx thanks for reply hun

I have PCOS and fell pregnant on cd , i had lost just under 7 stone in 6 months and took one course of clomid after just over 2 years of ttc and luckily fell. My twin who hasnt got pcos fell pregnant after 6 weeks on cambridge diet.

As for being overweight and with PCOS it doesnt automatically mean you will have problems conceiving, I was 18 and a half stone when i fell with my first which took 13 months and i have now got 6 children only needing help with the last one to conceive. I also know of several women who have needed no help whatsoever in having a family.

Good luck and hope you get the positive you are after in the near future

I conceived this baby while on SS. Its my third baby. Although I do not have PCOS.
I tried for 4 1/2 years to get pregnant with my daughter and this time it has taken me 6 months to conceive. I was in the overweight category when I conceived.

wow its amazing, love to hear more success, would be inspiration to keep sticking with it! x
