Unclear about milk

Hi Everybody x
I wonder if somebody could clear up something for me.
On my first consultation 'my lady' told me everything I could and couldn't do on Cambridge Diet and this basically is, three scahets a day and loads of water, and cups of tea or coffee with tablet form sweetener.
So that is what I have been doing. One Shake and two soups each day (today is my second day). She also said that if I liked I could have a splash of skimmed milk in my tea and coffee (coz I am rather large :D) and it wouldn't blow things for me. I have about four cuppas a day, and do only put a little bit of skimmed milk in them.
Is this ok to do?

I am not sure - I was told no milk whatsoever. I have given up tea/coffee as it tastes so bitter without milk

I was told not to use any milk but some girls here still have a littel drop in their tea or coffee and they still losing weight.
i think also it may be different of how much you have to loose.. but don't know for sure..

I was told no milk as well but thought it was more to do with the lactose <the natural sugar that is contained within the milk> rather than the fat content - which is obviosuly important as well. Could the lactose hinder ketosis?
I'm sure someone will come along and answer.

some of the shake contain lactose though don't they?

On SS you shouldn't have milk. On SS+ you can.

I've had skimmed milk in my coffee since I started CD, and it doesn't seem to have affected my weight loss. My CDC did the same when she lost her weight.

Thanks everybody, and thanks brummie bird. I think I will continue to have my 4 cuppas a day with a splosh of milk then.

I'm on SS+, I have the meal not the milk option, BUT I do put a teaspoon full of skimmed milk in my tea at night, and it's fine. (My Ketostix are pink every day.) My CDC said it's not recommended, but you do what you have to to get you through.

So you either cheat and eat something BAD, or you have a small spoonfull of milk in your tea once or twice. I'll take the tea option I think.

That reminds me, i must get some ketostix today. Wonder if they have them in Tesco chemist.
