Hi, this is my first post so please be gentle! I have done Weight Watchers so many times (mainly at home with the CD) and having attended my first SW meeting last week and read through how the diet works I have to say that half of the system is somewhat the same as WW. By this I mean that the Syns are similar to the WW points system but I find it easier to follow the SW cos I dont have to weigh the Free foods and most of the HE foods which is so much easier!
Good luck and I am eager to go through all of the recipes you have posted on this site. Thanx

Welcome mdsremos, good luck with SW, how much do you wanna lose? Ive not done WW so cant comment really, but I understand that everything has a point value, so if you use your points in meals you have none for treats, but sooooooo much is free on SW that you dont need to use syns in meals and can therefore use em for treats - thats the real beauty of SW in my eyes! xxx

WW Core is very similar to SW, in that you have loads of free foods and then have extra points for treats.

Thanks for the replies...didnt realise this post was here at first as it was originally a reply to another but was moved :wave_cry:
I think I have set a target at the moment to lose 1.5stone by Xmas but know that I need to lose more...I currently weigh 14st4lbs and at 5ft5in this isnt the best weight to be but wierd to think that I weigh less now then before I was pregnant as I was over 15st and my little boy is now 2yrs 4months and I struggle to keep up with him so thought I better do something about it!
If the Consultant asked me what I want to acheive by Xmas is that my target or is it adjusted again if I achieve that? Not sure how the target is set and then the possibility of free for life classes works? Also heard that once a target is achieved that you have to stay within 3lbs each way to stay a free member...was if you lost more than 3lbs would you have to start paying and a new target set....sorry for all of the questions:confused:

It will just be a mini target. There are a few of us on here who are aiming for our club 10 before Xmas. I think if you 3lbs below your target, you can have it adjusted.

If you go 3lb below your target you would have to pay as a target member myself have only ever gone that 3 under once to give me some breathing space for a holiday. Cross that bridge when you come to it !

If she has just asked what you want to lose by xmas then that is just a mini goal not a target. When you tell your SWC you want to set your PAT you can only move that by a minimum of 7lb at a time and when you are within 3lb either side of your Target you go free. I still haven't set my target yet
