I have been going through your posts here on the LT forum and I'm amazed, you all seem to be doing fantastic!

Now for my questions
1. The closest pharmacist that does LT is 10 miles away from me do you think they would have a problem taking me on?
2. Is there a weight limit to starting LT I'm currently 22st 12.2lb would being so obese be a problem?
3. How much does it cost?
4. Do I need to see my GP first or can I just contact the pharmacy and go through them?

Hi there and welcome to Minimins :)

Now for my answers:
1. The closest pharmacist that does LT is 10 miles away from me do you think they would have a problem taking me on?

As long as you're prepared to travel the distance required to visit your pharmacy they shouldn't have a problem with it.

2. Is there a weight limit to starting LT I'm currently 22st 12.2lb would being so obese be a problem?

Lipotrim is designed specifically for people who are overweight/obese/super obese/morbidly obese. The programme is usually refused to those who do not have either a) a BMI of 30 or over (Obese) or b) more than 3 stone to lose (42lb)

3. How much does it cost?

Cost varies throughout the UK but the most consistent price seems to be £36 per week for women and £48 for men. Only your pharmacy will be able to tell you exactly how much. Usually it is more expensive in Ireland.

4. Do I need to see my GP first or can I just contact the pharmacy and go through them?

You do not need to contact your GP first though you may if you wish. Upon signing up with your pharmacy you will be required to fill out a medical questionnaire which then may or may not be sent to your surgery.

Hope that was helpful hun. Any other questions just ask away! :)

Good luck hun, let us know how you get on :) x

Good luck Lissy.

I think Gemma answered all your questions for you but I would like to add that someone on here does LT through her GP or hospital and pays less for it.

Also, if 10 miles is a bit far everyweek then they may let you WI every other week (though I couldn't wait that long between mine!)

My nearest Pharmacy is 25 miles away in the next county (none in the whole of Wiltshire, why not????), distance isnt a problem as long as you are prepared to travel it every week to get your supplies and do the WI!

Well I joined today and start tomorrow, I was asked to ring them after 3 days to let the know how I am doing, they didn't have any problems taking me on and it was exactly £36 like Rainbow said ;) I got a selection of everything but they didn't have any flapjacks :/

I'm dreading drinking 4 pints of water a day cos I rarely drink, I thought maybe I could drink it all in 1 go but that's a big no no apparently.

My OH has agreed to take me every Friday so I didn't need to ask to go once a fortnight

Thanks for the replies :)

Hi Lissy and:welcome:
You can't have the flapjacks for the first two weeks anyway, so you're not missing out.
Try having your water in a bottle with a sports cap and just keep sipping through the day.
I actually need my water now, and like you, hardly drank before. Remember the mantra "The more you drink, the more you shrink" !!
The very best of luck to you for your first week and look forward to seeing your first WI results. xx:)

welcome and good luck.. look forward to seeing how u get on xxxxx

Good luck for the next week.

Remember if you need any advice ask, cos everyone is very supportive. I wouldn't have got to week 2 without them.:party0019:

had my last day of free for all eating, had pudding chips and gravy from the chippy (sorry if that makes some of you wanna beat me with a stick :p)

Seriously can't keep up on this forum... you're all so active and friendly it's amazing everytime I log in there is a tonne more posts to read through ^.^ I'm lovin it. No wonder you're all losing so much weight I'm suprised you have enough time in the day to eat after replying/creating all these posts hehe
