Ducolax...it's like a tiger in the tummy (that has sharp claws!)

A baby tiger that is trying to get out and roars and has claws

My my my... I am awake at 5 thirty in the morning because I am waiting to see if the roaring beast in my stomach that made an appearance and hour ago has any friends!

Blimey! the noise! I took a pill at 9 oclock and by 11 I was feeling sick and had to leave hubby watching film to get a hot water bottle and retreat to bed (not like me at all)
Then I managed to get a couple of hours sleep before very strong stomach cramps, like period pain but higher in the chest. Then boy! the noise! a loud deep rumbling roar, like a baby tiger trying to rip its way out with claws, or a baby dragon fire breathing it's way out of my body (and oh my god the taste is my mouth is indescribable, very strange chemical taste)
and then at 4am....poof, out came the dragon/tiger and the pain was over. But the roaring remained. So I am on minimins, posting and drinking my water wondering if it is safe to go back to bed

Would I take ducolax again
Not if I can help it, it's like no period pain or tummy upset feeling, I was getting sounds and pain messages from places that have never communicated to me before!
I am going to up my husk in shake quota and try and find something milder,
cos boy! I didnt recognise my intestines tonight

Poor you hun - Had the same problem last night and i took some sennocot.Had a warm drink this morning and bingo. No pain or animal sounds.........Hope your day improves :)

oh dear - does not sound fun at all! Hope you're feeling better soon! x

You do get used to them after a while. I've been getting them on prescription for a long time now.

they are horrible! I think I will take more senna/water/husks in future. I still have a terrible chemical taste in my mouth even with lots of water. My toungue is also yellow and the back of my mouth is red and raw. I feel like I've been poisoned. But it did the job, I will up my preventative measures! I know someone on here eats a runny bowl of Physllium husks for breakfast....mmmm will have to google how many husks you can safely take, I don't want it to become a husk bung!

blimey, never have I thought so much of my internal piping than over the last few days!!

Still feel sick 24 hours later and like my stomach is like the inside of a hot water bottle and I am still tasting the chemically taste. Bleugh!

Sounds like a very marked reaction to a laxative taken by lots of peeps here, including myself. Poor you! Perhaps you are sensitive to the ingredients? A wild guess lol.

I find that taking a daily vitamin and mineral supplement with iron makes me very constipated. I used to take psyllium husks and found them very effective but I got bored with the taste and texture. Even so I hope to go back on them soon.

Hope you find something gentler in the very near future!

If it gets desperate try the bullet up the bum glycerine method - odd to start with - shove it up - I go in the bath then for half an hour or so and de dah, result - no growling, no pain, just relief!!!

The fibre stuff you can buy from your CDC is brilliant. Quite expensive at £5.50 but well worth every penny.

I have a feeling that dulcolax and other similar products are not recomended on CD.

They advise to use senna etc instead as it's easier on the insides!

I'm sure someone with more knowledge than me can come and confirm!

I had exactly the same on Sunday so sympathise. I find the chicken and mushroom soup clears me out....so will stick to that in future.
Love you descriptions by the way, you should write a book!!
