I sit ok to have meat on LT? I'm asking because when i went for my weigh in last week and my son grassed me up for having chinese lol my chemist said if you're gonna have chinese just stick to the meat!!

i think he was more saying that if you REALLY are going to eat then its best to just eat meat because it's protein. but you can't eat ANYTHING on Lt (except if you leave lumps in ya shake?) lol

I was wondering this. I'm going to a birthday party tonight, not worried about not drinking but there's a buffet on and there'll be tons of lean ham and beef and turkey. Wouldn't mind a tiny plate with a bit of meat on it and maybe a teeny tomato...

tomatoes are quite high in carbs.

u will only get the pleasure for about a minute while u are eating hun, and then comes the guilt, and then comes the crap wi. xx

eww lumps in the shake if i find one it all goes back in the blender. Thanx hun thats what i thought he meant but thought i'd check it out wi u guys as u lot seem to know more about LT than my chemist i think i know more about LT than my chemist now lol they'r not clued up at all they'r a lovely bunch of people but ant got a clue about LT get this i get weighed by a different member of staff every week i think only the first 2 week i had the same person weigh me since then they'v all had a dabble thats 5 different people i'v had weigh me

i've had 3 different people weigh me, but i suppose in theory they should be able to find anything they need to know about you on your notes xx

yeah its just annoying having to make chit chat with a different person every week telling them the same things as you'v told the other person the week before

That's the thing I don't understand about a bunch of people here - when they say it.

Guilt? For a tomato and some meat?

If you are feeling GUILT for stuff like this then maybe talk to your counsellor?

I don't think this is supposed to be an endless guilt train, is it?

If it is, I am not going to hang out 'round here any more.

People are supposed to eat food. People are NOT supposed to OVEReat food.

Why should someone feel guilty for some meat and tomato and tomatoes DO NOT have that many carbs!

1 chocolate shake (that's the kind I have to hand) contains just over 14 carbs.

1 average sized tomato has 5.7 carbs, but also 1.4 grams of fibre, so the carbs he would be stuck with would be 4.3 and as meat is usually <1 - he'd be looking at around 5-7 carbs at the absolute most, if say the turkey was marinated or something - as opposed to a smidge over 14.

So yeah. The shake is actually more carbs than the tomato.

I can see the argument for not having anything other than LT... after all, it is a total food replacement diet you have committed to.

However... I feel like I could have a small plate of meat instead of a shake, which will not only satisfy the craving I've got, it will mean I can join in the party, not have my partner pointing at me, and by my WI next Tuesday hopefully have lost another couple of pounds, ketosis or no ketosis...

Sorry for hijacking the thread by the way.

wow! Can i just remind people that LT is a TFR whats a total food replacement!! U will only see great results if u stick to it 100% part of the reason why i used to take breaks from coming to the forum is people used to say will it matter if i eat a piece of chicken or lettuce well its only your money ya wasting and your time sorry to be harsh but yes best to stick to nothing no meat no tomatos just your LT

Sorry but im sure few others would agree!

WitchyAnne - Irrelevant. This diet is a Total Food Replacement diet. You replace the food totally. If anyone doesn't understand this then LT isn't the correct diet for them.

You feel guilty because you've broken the diet. At £36 per week if I'm gonna cheat I'm gonna feel guilty afterwards for having wasted my money.

Do this diet or don't. Do not make a half-assed attempt at it because you will have minimal weight losses and then become down about it, thus leading to further eating and weight gain. Simple.

But does the tomato have everything in it your body needs?? The shake does. The shakes contain all the nutrients your body needs per day.

Because LT is 100% food replacement - so when you have times where you don't stick to (which i have) then you are not sticking to the diet which we first started up. You're right in that people should eat but just not overeat, but if any of us actually had any self control then we wouldn't be in the situations that we are in now. So, by doing LT you gain yourself self control in which you can then go back to eating after re-training your mind and therefore not overeating.

Now, to be quite frank - what any of us feel after not sticking to LT is everyones personal choice and not for YOU to judge, whether that be guilt, happiness, relief or whatever.

This forum is for people to speak their minds and to give opinions when people ask questions, and thats what they are, opinions from MY personal experience!!!!!

thanx hun i dont want the meat i just wondered why the chemist had said it when its a total food replacement programme (i say programme cos i hate the word 'DIET') I havn't eaten any food since monday. To be honest last week i was really struggling to get into it but yesterday and today its been easy i'm not even bothered about food i think putting the 3lbs on has given me the kick up the arse i needed. And i think its all to do with the way your mind works and whether you're comitted to this or not and i'v turned a corner on where i'v decided i am comitted i do want to reach my target and if i cheat i'l never get there. xx
