What's a good colour to be?

I seem to have put on a pound since last weigh in (despite not cheating), so bought some ketostix to check I'm still in ketosis. Colour was second to darkest pink so guess I am?!

Why would my weight be stalling - is only my second week?! And drinking loads of water and everything.

Help please :confused:

Hi Mason,

I'm not a CDC but am on Sole Source myself at the mo. I know that if you sit in the light pink shade or the slightly deeper one, you are ok and in ketosis.

I know from reading posts from CDC's that if you are getting a really dark, almost purple colour, then you need to drink more. I sometimes have a very dark colour first thing on a morning but then as soon as I start to drink in the day, it does sit at the pale pink shade.

I hope this helps and I'm sure someone more qualified than me will be along very soon to advise you about this.

Amy hun, u say u seem to have put on a pound, is this on your scales or the Cdc scales if its your scales then dont worry about it and maybe not weigh yourself at home just when u see your Cdc.

Ketostix are usefull but at the same time they can be misleading.
If u use them first thing in the morning they will be a darker clolour as u have not drunk any water to flush out the ketones in your wee and if u have drunk alot of water and test during the day then it will be a lighter colour.

Hun u have done so well and lost 10lbs in your first week sometimes peeps stay the same the second or third week and it could be for a few reasons.
1) your body is just re ajusting and getting used to being in ketosis and losing so much in the first week.
2) could u be approaching Totm as even on vlcd u can have probs with water retention around Totm time.
3) could u poss be a little constipated

Hun pls dont worry as u have been following the plan 100% u will lose weight no matter what.
How much water have u been drinking could u maybe increase it by a pint or 2.
Amy pls dont let this worry u its very normal on vlcd diets to sometimes stall, just carry on doing what u r doing and maybe take your measurements because u will def be shrinking.

Keep reminding myself that I HAVE to be losing weight - even if I don't this week I will next I suppose.

My life is very sad am always at home but u know what this time next year things r going to be so different for both of us.
My 14 yr old son Aaron went out on a date this afternoon he has a better social life than me lol

I know it is frustrating and you think I haven't had a thing and I have put on.......but, stick to it. People will have weeks they can not explain, it could be for a variety of reasons, even the time of day you weigh yourself is a factor (same time each week is best).

Always keep in mind, it is a physical impossibility for you to really put on weight. You maybe a pound heavier, but you have not put on weight, if that makes sense.

There are not many things we can be certain about in life, but it doesn't matter if it is Cambridge, Lighterlife or Lipotrim, VLCDs when carried out as recommended work and they work well.

I'm not a betting man (well alright I am), but I bet you loss next week makes up for it.
