Ok, I am 11 stone and 5ft 2.
I want to lose 2 or 3 stone.

And it really is a matter of life and death because my weight gain has drastically changed the way I look (thanks to my jawline.)

What I've been eating for a month:
breakfast = bowl of cereal
lunch = 2 slices of toast with whatever spread (peanut butter etc)
dinner = Either a rice based dish or packet noodles or a plate of salad.

I want to lose 2 pounds a week. But I am barely losing 1 pound a week and somtimes I lose nothing. A month has pass and I've only lost something below 3 pounds.

Am I eating too much complex carbohydrates? I dont really snack on junk food but I drink lots of milk tea and coffee.
I also go to the gym for an hour, 2/3 times a week and I eat fruits.
Please need suggestions! Thanks!

Hi

Doesn't look to me like you are eating nearly enough!! And I can't see how you are nutritionally safe on that intake.

Therefore can only recommend you follow a well planned and safe diet like Slimming World, Weight watchers etc or maybe go for a calorie counting plan on something like weightlossresources.co.uk

I agree with Mike. That's nowhere near enough!!

Is there a slimming club near you that you could join?

Yes, I thought that too. I've looked at these other diets and they seem like more food intake than what I usually eat... Should I be looking at portions? A metabolism issue?

I dont know about clubs, but I am seriously considering a nutritionist or some personal trainer.

Firstly I would go and chat it over with your GP and get a general health check including a thyroid check and other checks such as weight and BP.

Then go with their recommendation but by having virtually no calories and not being nutritionally safe then your body can go into total starvation mode, things like your finger nails stop growing etc and you tend to be very cold.

Personally I would then recommend that you look at doing a healthy eating diet (something like Tesco diets) and keep up the exercise and you'll be fine.

Hey cotton bud,
Im roughly the same as you (5ft 1" and just under 11 stone).
When i first seen your menu my first thought was how little you were eating, the second thought was that it was basically all refined carbs.
I agree with the advice the others have given to follow a set plan or speak to a professional. In the meantime how about replacing some of the 'bad carbs' with 'good carbs' like fruit or vegetables, and for your main meal try to make it high in protein.
Plus once your eating a little bit more then you can add exercise to boost your metabolism and speed up the weight loss.
Good luck on your journey and keep us informed with what you decide to do.

absolutely right :)

they do seem to be all refined carbs, and carbs should always be eaten in conjunction with the same amount of protien....this helps the body store/use the carbs properly.

good luck with whatever you do...if you choose a healthy eating style....just remember to look at the nutricional value of your food...dont just look at it as a calorie or as a point...;)

If you aren't eating enough then your body will be trying to hang onto whatever fat it is given which is possibly why your loss is not as much s you think it should be. Definitely advise following a proper plan of some description
