Xenical Question

I took 1 xenical capsule on friday afternoon about 2 pm., within an hour of lunch.

By Saturday i had a tummy ache. Saturday evening i had cramps and wind.

Sunday was the same, and now monday morning i still have cramps.

Could it be the xenical, even though i only took 1 capsule?

Sorry to hear how you are feeling. I've not had any problems at all. Have you looked at the leaflet? Could be a side effect.

I've just looked at the side effects listed on my packet and this is what it says....
"The majority of unwanted side effects related to the use of Xenical result from local action in your digestive system. These commonly include : urgent or increased need to open the bowels, flatulence (wind) with discharge, oily discharge and oily or fatty stools.
These symptoms are generally mild, occur at the begining of treatment, go away after some time and are particularly experienced after meals containing high levels of fat. Normally these symptoms disappear if you continue treatment and keep your recommended diet. "

I've had no side effects at all and I've been on Xencial since April. Could your diet have been a bit higher in fat than you thought on Friday?

Sounds like it could be. If you had quite a lot of fat in your system it could be reacting to that. I had terrible wind when I started Xenical too.

Thanks everyone!

I have been doing SW for a couple of weeks and haven't had anything high in fat, which was what made me wonder if it was the xenical or what?

I thought also that xenical only acted on the fat in the meal you took it with, so wondering why i still have cramps 3 days later??

I actually found there seemed to be a delay with it. I have a 'treat night' on a Monday when I have Chinese, I found it was maybe the Wednesday before I felt the effects of my tablet.
