Psyllium husks powder or capsules

LIGHTER LIFE FOR LIFE
After giving birth to my first bowel movement since my re-start, I have decided to try psyllium husks to get things moving!
When I looked at getting them on line, i noticed that you can get them in capsule form - has anyone used these whilst on sole source!
capsules would be so much easier than making the "porridge", but I want to remain in ketosis!
I certainly do not want to have the pain I experienced on the toilet again!

Hi,

Not sure if I can help although I have taken the odd capsule lately to help things along and my weight loss hasn't been affected. I haven't taken them daily which I really need to now as like you said its like giving birth and isn't pleasant. Loved ya description tho lol

I am on SS+ (just a week in) and since day 3 have been taking two capsule a day, with good effect. The husk in its pure form sounds horrid. I have the Solgar brand from Holland & Barrett.

I got husks from the local health shop, add a teaspoon or two to a shake twice a day and it makes a yummy porridy gloop. I follow it by at least half a pint of green tea. So far it has kept me regular everyday for the last month. I would miss my husks if Icouldnt have them, but always make sure you have them with enough water

Do you drink this gloop or eat it with a spoon like porridge?? And do you still put the same amount of water in as for a shake?

everyday for brecky I do the following...

Half a pack of chocky shake with a teaspoon of un sweetened cocoa powder ( I dont care if it's not on the plan it makes it yummy) I mix that with 1-2 teaspoons of husk and a sweetner, mix this with about 2 fingers of cold water so not a paste and not shake, then top with hot water and stir as much as poss with a spoon. I then usually wander around in a daze getting ready for work and have the hot shake about 5 minutes after mixing it, I usually give it another wizz with the spoon and drink the yummy hot chocolatey mixture down whilst looking at GMTV. It's not like porridge but is is thick and satisfying, sometimes there are a few lumps in it, but i like them too.

I didnt get on with CD porridge, so this is the next best thing. I love it. And it keeps all the internal things moving too!

It sounds good. I too put a sprinkle of chocolate shake in my porridge but the husks sound interesting. Think I would prefer it slightly thicker to eat with a spoon so I'll use slightly less water when I try it perhaps. Thanks.
