:D starting tomorrow that is.....and im so excited!!!

my cdc was very straight forward and the whole meeting lasted about 20 mins, got weighed, measured and answered a questionaire about my health, got my packs and off i went. i was nearly in tears (of joy) on the way home!

anyway ive been told to follow the 1000cals a day plan and not the ss as my bmi is 51, she said this would be safer to get my bmi down as ss is so drastic, thing is i was all geared up for ss and i still am. ive got enough packs for 3 a day for the next 7 days so im thinking of doing SS anyway, do you think this would be wise or better to stick to what cdc says? :D

CD START DATE - 23/11/06
START WEIGHT - 21st 11lb
BMI - 51
WAIST - 47 1/2in

Hi Lizzie,
My BMI was 52 when I started, and I've been OK. The thing is, if your BMI is over 40, you have to take that medical form to your GP and get it signed.
Whatever, good luck, and welcome to CD land.
Ann x
PS you only need 2 packs a day for 1,000 cals. so don't know why you've got 3.

Good Luck Lizzie! And I must say, a great time to start just before Xmas - rather than getting bigger like the majority of the population, you can be getting smaller and improving your health by the day. CD is fast and very effective.

Is that pic of you as you are now? I know it's only a head shot, but you really don't look the size that you've stated.

Anyway, congrats on taking a big step and the very best of luck!!

Hiya mate

As Ann says, you would need a signature from your Dr in order to SS. And even though you have enough packs to SS I wouldn't do it without telling your CDC - you want to be able to trust each other and work together. Good luck for your start xx

DQ is right about building up the trust between you and your CDC - a good relationship between you will make it seem so much easier.

Good luck Lizzie and looking forward to hearing all about your journey! xx

So pleased for you Lizzie it's a wonderful thing you are doing for yourself.

I'm away for a week so will be looking out for how you are doing on my return.

Think this time next year it could be you celebrating being on the Slimmer of the Year shortlist!

I do hope so.

My BMI was 56 and I've been SS'ing for 6 weeks now (with 1 week AAM in there). BUT, I would definitely talk to your CDC again and tell her how you feel and come to a mutually satisfactory outcome.

If you are to succeed I believe that you need a totally honest and up front relationship with your CDC.. he/she will be your best friend on this journey!! :D

I have 3 packs a day (isn't that 450 Ann? or did I misunderstand your comment.. lol not hard for me tonight!) Ahh... is it that you have 2 packs plus food?? (can ya hear that penny clanging as it drops!?)

Regardless... I love your excitement Lizzie! You will do it for sure! I for one am looking forward to following your progress!

Congratulations, I remember how excited I was when I collected my packs, just couldn't wait to get going.

Think the advice you've had re SSing V 100cal is sound, you really must talk to your C again. I'm sure you would get on fine with SS and with your docs permission could do it but you will lose plenty on 100 cal plan and it will break you in gently to SSing, as you move down the stages.

Good luck

:D lol!! thats why i always use that headshot! im lying on the floor so no double chins and smiling only a little so no big cheeks! never mind that will all change soon!

thank you all!!! what lovely encouraging people you are!

ive been reading thro my book and found that for 1000 cal (step 3) i need to have:

breakfast 1 pack + 150cal meal + 1/2 pt skimmed milk
lunch 1 pack + salad
dinner main course + fruit = 460cal

going to have to phone cdc tomorrow as she told me 3 packs plus a meal...im confused!

never mind will start tomorrow with a yummy shake!

good luck everyone!

I wonder if your CDC meant you to do the 790 plan may be worth double checking with her.

Will be checking back again in one week to see how your doing.

i sent my cdc an email lastnight just to double check which way to go, i really wanted to just cut out food altogether but ill go with what she advises

first banana shake down the hatch, it was very nice!

Hi Lizzie, good luck with the diet, v. excited for you! The first few days will be a bit grim but hang on in there and it will all be worth it by the time your 1st weigh in rolls around!

xx

Hi Lizzie

Welcome to the wonderful world of CDing. All the best for your first week, keep up that wonderful enthusiasm & you'll sail through.

Make sure you're happy with what you're doing & don't be afraid to ask your counsellor if you do want to drop down the plans. It's a good way to prepare yourself anyway by starting at a higher plan, and then move down the steps to SS, but even 1000 is still a low calorie plan and you'll have great weightloss.

Let us know how you get on & which plan you end up with.

Take care

x
