argh!!! stress

mod-karen79

rainbows holiday buddy :)
hi all,

as some of you already know i'm suffering from stress, which i want to avoid leading into depression/anxiety.

i don't want to go on anti-depressants as don't feel i'm at the stage where i need them - have previously used them for a lengthy period of time and am reluctant to use again.

does anyone know of any good stress leaving products - perhaps herbal? ...please don't suggest camomile tea! :)

have thought about st. john's wort...has anyone used this before???

hey

sorry to hear ur feelin under the weather atm

just wanted to let ya no ya not on ya own n i hope u find sumthing that helps u feel happier soon

I know this sounds a cliche, but exercise works wonders, even if its just brisk walking.

I used Paul McKennas hypnosis tapes when I had problems sleeping after a bereavement and it really helped.

Hope your feeling better soon xx

Yoga - deep breathing principles?
Have heard great things about St Johns Wort - but if on pill you can't take. I visit a homeopath for PMT, works a treat. Google a local registered practise in your area. The 1st consultation is very good as you get a chance to chat and get alot of things of your chest.
Another would be accupuncture.

Good Luck,
Nxx

i know exercise increases your seratonin levels, but when i exercised yesterday i had a really bad tension headache for the entire time :(

I agree exercise does relive some stress

but headaches can also be a sign of dehydration -- this is from a former CDer!

hope you get away from ur stress!

it's definately not dehydration - i wish it was :( and when you feel like you're being hit around the back of the head with a shovel it kind of makes exercise difficult! i think i'll make a GP appointment on monday.

oh poor girl! that really sounds awful!

any way of getting rid of this stress?

i think my stress is a build up of lots of things.

am going on holiday on 28th august for 16 days and hopefully that will help.... but i'm also the most nervous flyer, so am already getting wound up for that. once i'm there i'll be fine!

If you are going to take something herbal, you should really consult a qualified herbalist as you dont want to take something that could make you worse!
Hope you feel better soon!!!

Hey MK -Id be interested to see what you decide to do, I too feel down and I dont wanna take anti depressants, but Im hoping that losing weight will make me feel better (it hasnt done so far though) xxx

Just another idea, have you tried taking Bachs Flower Rescue Remedy? I use it when I go the dentist, Dr's or for an interview.

Another suggestion is try some CBT through a webite, such as the one in the link below.

Living Life To The Full

HTH and that you are both feeling more uplifted and stress free very soon xx
