Slowly Shrinking. Yay!!
Hi there,

There is a pill called reductil in NZ, Not sure if it is anywhere else. Its meant to make you fill fuller plus alot of other stuff.
I was just wondering.. is any on this?
If it works
Etc? Thanks!

I do know that GSK, the makers of Reductil, are only just doing trials of it. I was going to take part in the trials but I couldn't as they alter blood pressure and I have to have stable BP for my job

Oh yes, I remember you posting about that Taz some time ago.

That is what it's supposed to do but they have only just started the trials for it so it is not yet proven

Hi. It works on the brain and as Sam said reduces the appetite and can make you feel fuller on less food. I've been on it twice, 10mg kept me awake at night and I had a reaction to the 15mg.

You need medical supervision because it can make BP higher as Taz says, also can cause a dry mouth, insomnia.

It works for some and not for others, it's a matter of trial and error like everything. :)

Hi, I know the NHS prescribe 2 types of slimming drugs (well my GP does anyway). The is reductil and oralstat I think.

One stops your body absorbing as much fat from your diet (but gives you the two bob bits) and the other lowers your appetite.

I decided not to go for either of them, as I feel the best way to lose weight is to do it naturally by eating less and exercising more (wish I could follow my own advice). Also, my Mum had breast cancer, and it has made me more aware of different drugs etc I put into my body, e.g. pill etc.

This is only my point of view, and I'm aware that the tablets work really well for some people (if they didn't work the NHS wouldn't prescribe them). Good luck with your journey.

I was prescribed Reductil a while back. was fantastic at reducing my appitite, but the constipation was awful. No matter how much fibre I included in my diet and how much water I drunk the constipation was dreadful. Had to stop taking it because of that.

Hi, I started taking it about 3 weeks ago (prescribed by GP), it has stopped me thinking about food all the time and I havent felt the need to eat half as much as I normally do. The downside is that it has made me grumpy! Still early days though.............

Oh no! - that's not a good side effect.
How about the weight, has it helped at all?

I went to Dr's today, just for a check and weigh, and told her I was wary of taking the Xenical, so she's given me Reductil instead, going to start tomorrow.

Have also treated myself to new scales today, as I was 7lb lighter on hers - so quite chuffed lol
