How to cope in work?

Started LT today and it really hasn't been as bad as I expected the 1st day to be...but maybe I'm speaking too soon;)

Just wondered if anyone had any tips of how to cope whilst in work.
Big culture of take aways and cafe trips etc.
Today I went for the soup option, bowl and spoon, to 'not stand out' too much - but it was gross!!

Any tips? :)

I had the soup the first day and was nearly sick. Thought it vile. I have my morning shake at home and then bring the peanut flapjack for 'lunch' so not to stand out as you say! They are find eaten small bits often with a hot black coffee or toasted as Julz has said.
good luck with your first week. I'm just starting week 4 and loving it. 18 pound lost so far

I've always made my shakes at work & balls to what people think :)

I only whisk with a plastic fork so it's a bit lumpy but I don't mind that with chocolate flavour (only flavour I have at work)... little lumps of choc goodness :)

You are doing this for YOU, not for them :)

Good luck & be strong & proud :) LT rocks !

Just to start with maybe you could have a 'sore throat' so need something cooling, then peeps will just get used to your shakes, try the soup again adding black pepper and chilli powder - make sure it is blended thoroughly - the flapjacks are an aquired taste but give them a go - you never know !! - good luck x

:sign0137: almost as bad as that protein drink:eek:

I have two shakes a day at work my brekkie and dinner, i have a screw top tupperware beaker (proper tupperware with a decent seal) i just stick the shake in put water from the cooler in shake like a mad woman ala Tom Cruise in cocktail then i just drink it wherever I am stuff what the others think! no lumps just nice lovely Vanilla and Strawberry shake.. i have now gotten into saving my choccie shake for tea as something to look forward to.. sad eh

well im a health visitor and i work in a n office full of nurses...and im the same attitude as "balls to what they think". I have a plug in hand blender thats really noisy! and i blend my shake for lunch time with a smile on my face! lol..its not been day 6 and everyone's used to it :D

Buy a shaker, I didn't have one for my 1st 11 weeks or so because I heard bad things about them on here, but then one of the girlys on here reccommended one in particular (the beautiful Rainbow Brite (Gemma) if I'm not mistaken), and I followed her advice and got one.
It's a protein shaker, with a screw top lid, and it's brilliant!!!! I get a better mix than with a hand whisk, and it's given me my life back, I can go anywhere, do anything, once I have it and a couple of LTs in my bag. Here's the link to one for sale on e-bay.
eBay.ie: MAXIMUSCLE - PROTEIN MIXER / SHAKER 700ML! SCREW TOP (item 150279715429 end time 16-Aug-08 02:17:00 BST)

It took feckin ages to arrive tho, so I bought a LT one in the meantime, and it's great too. I just prefer the screw top lid on the other one.
If I was to give advice to someone starting LT, one of the most important things for your sanity is a shaker!!!

Good luck Trixie,

I have always stuck to flapjacks for lunch coz they are handy and can be eaten on the run. This week I've been to my sisters. She said she had a blender but I packed my Tupperware Quickshake just in case, which was just as well as her blender was packed in the loft! It did the job. You can find them on eBay.

(You shouldn't have flapjacks till week 2 or 3)

x
