Adding Extra Water to Shake?

Sorry for all the questions; it's my 2nd day on the diet, and I'm still learning.

I'm finding the shakes and drinks to be a bit too thick for me with the 8-9oz. recommended serving. Is it okay to add more water than directed to the mixture, or will that water it down too much?

Yep absolutely, I used to make my soups up in 400ml of water.

i make all mine upto between 300-400mls or soups i split into 2.

h yay! Maybe watering it down will also help the smell calm some. My biggest issue isn't the taste - it's the too-sweet smell and thick texture. I'm excited though - and so far still not hungry! *goes off to try a "lunch" with excess water*

I found I had to split the soups because to make them to the consistancy and taste I liked I had to add to much water and if I had them all in one go i couldnt finish them as there was to much.lol.

Does anyone else find it difficult to finish their "meals", even without adding a ton of water to them? (I haven't bought the soups. I'm using the fast start shake-only plan for now. Next purchase will definitely include tomato soup though, man do I miss it!)

I bought french vanilla and capuccino. Then, I realized they're very thick and you aren't supposed to warm them. So now I wish I had strawberry and banana. I've never been a fan of cold coffee. Can't wait for the soups! :D I haven't been hungry at all, and have had to force these meals down, and it's not even ketosis day yet - Only 1 meal into day 2 of the diet. :-o

you can have them made with warm water hunni, im sure it says so on the back of the pack. Also Ive heard people say they put the vanilla shake into a cup of coffee ( not all at once obviously)

I too Love tomato soup well Heinz tomato soup and so having started CD the Tomato soup was the 1st soup I purchased it was REALLY, REALLY YUCKY!!

I only have the Vegetable soup with a pint of water!

I so hope you will "love" the CD tomato soup and that you won't be as disappointed with it as I was!X

I think that I should have bought better flavors. ;) I just keep telling myself, dilute, pinch, gulp. Dilute, pinch, gulp. Nothing worth having is easy, and if liquid/VLCD diets were tasty more people would be using them over WW or Jenny Craig or Nutrisystem.

make the shakes with iced water, crushed ice and drink through a straw. Much more palatable.

am not sure of your guidelines since your on the american version of cambridge but am sure you can add extra water, i always make mine with extra
if your finding it difficult to finish all at once maybe try splitting your packs to make smaller more regular meals, could help

Yeah; my dad said the key is to drink them when they are absolutely freezing ice cold. I am trying to find a way to turn it into ice cream - that might be more appetizing. Ordering soups Wednesday when I get paid, so only a little longer on the shake stuff. :D

I make up my shakes with 14oz-16oz of water. The shakes are delicious ice cold, you could try putting a few ice cubes in there to get a better texture. The Chocolate shake however is gorjus as hot chocolate, its the next best thing to hot chocolate. Enjoy xx

I bought french vanila and capuccino. Mistake. I hate them both. :( I have hopes for the soups; so we'll see. Also looking forward to cold strawberry for breakfast. I'll try the hot chocolate idea. Is a tiny bit of skim milk added to the tomato ok? It's mostly water anyways, right?
