Going from AAM to 1000 plan

hannahkaye

This is it!
Hi guys

I've moved straight from AAM week to the 1000 plan, and I was wondering if this would be OK? I don't actually have much choice, after my little adventure on Friday. I have been on CD for 6 months and lost 6st 6 lbs, and still need to lose roughly another 2 stone.

I ended up at Leeds General Infirmary. I was sat at my desk at work and suddenly I was struggling to breath. Worst moment of my entire life, thought that I was going to die before the ambulance got there. Turns out it was a muscle cramp in my abdominal area so when I was trying to breath it was pushing the air back out. The doctor thinks that it may be due to low salts, so I have to go to the docs next weeks for a full medical checkover. So I think it was a wake up call that my bodys had enough of sole sourcing. At least I provided some entertainment in the office!!

Any advise would be welcome.

Hi,

Hope you are feeling better now.

If possible try a couple of days of 790 then part a of the 1000 to gradually introduce the carbs.

You will still lose weight on the 1000 cal programme.:)

Poor you, That sounds awful!!!!

I have gone straight from ssing to the 1500 kcal program in the space of a day! So I'm sure you will be fine.

Mine was due to thyroid problems returning.

I hope everything goes well for you, and take it easy! :)

What a scary experience, hope you are feeling OK now - it must have shaken you up badly.
You may find it hard to suddenly start eating much again so it could take a few days before you are able to eat that quantity.
Low salts - makes me wonder if your water intake might have been a little too high. I have read that over 6 litres is risky, and I do feel that water intake should reflect your physical size to some extent.

Hi Hannah,

Hope you are feeling better now.
Did you tell the doctor about your diet? If so, what did he recommend that you do?

One of my CD clients, and a very good friend, was sent to the breast care unit yesterday after suffering swelling and pain in her breasts. Fortunately both mammograms were clear but she was really frightened. The specialist said it was caused by a deficiency in fatty acids and has ordered her to eat oily fish, nuts etc, or take evening primrose oil. The specialist recognised the cause as she too had been on a VLCD in the past and had suffered similar symptoms.

I must admit I've not heard of this before.
My friend had been SSing for aout 8 weeks and had lost 3 stone. She is starting to move up the steps of stabilisation now as she is less than a stone from goal anyway.

Has anyone else heard of this problem?
