Am I eating the right foods

Morning all just searching for some help and advice really, sorry to bombard you all with questions but since Monday I have been having a LighterLife bar for bfast (this has 20 carb) and a smoked salmon salad with chorizo & half mozzarella and lettuce 1 tom & mayo have been full so have not eaten in the evening. Got on scales and looks like I have gained 2lbs!!! Am due TOM so not sure if this is what is causing this but just wondering during first initial weeks of Atkins how much people where loosing and what where you eating? Also, wondering if transistion from Lighter life may be causing this??? Many thanks I will wait in anticipation :break_diet:

Have you read the Atkins book re: induction as you should only be having 20 carbs per day & your having this just in your bar. Cheese, vegetables & mayo all contain carbs too.

You should eat dinner even if your not hungry... doesn't have to be much but Atkins doesn't advocate going for more than 6 waking hours without eating.

ToTM will cause water retention, possibly the chorizo may too as they are salty?
I don't know what lighter life is but if its a vlcd (shakes etc) then I would expect that you would show a gain by just having food in your stomach... Atkins suggests weighing yourself at the start of your induction & not again until 14 days later when you finish induction.

Its best to read & re-read your Atkins book so you are doing it the best that you can!

Thank you Ditzy should have explained that because I am still in Ketosis from being on LL I am not eating over 30 grams of carbs per day. Have read and done Atkins many few years back but as I have been on a VLCD I just wondered if getting back into eating had effected my losses. I will do what you suggest and make sure that I eat a little someone even If I am not hungary and not weight myself for another 11 days at least. Many thanks xx
 
Sorry didn't realise you were still in ketosis. I had to hide my scales as I was an avid daily weigher & it was pretty much dictating my food... now I'm only weighing in monthly!

I haven't had the big losses that everyone else seems to get on Atkins but have just had ToTM for 3 weeks!!! Have probably been incorporating too much processed food too instead of doing it 'au natural' as Atkins would like but.... sometimes it is just easier to have a shake or bar!

Good luck with your journey I hope that you see a downward movement once your body's got used to eating again.xx
