Flapjacks

Hi everyone,
I am only on day 2 of LT and must admit i am finding it hard. I feel like i need to chew on something and wondered what the flapjacks were like. I have to go back to the chemist today to pick up some more shakes as they had ran out and thought I might give them a go. Are they as bad as people say?

Personally I think the flapjacks are horrendous but that's just my opinion. However, you're not allowed flapjacks in the first week sweetie so you'll have to save 'em 'til next week I'm afraid. x

It has been said to wait 2 -3 weeks, so your body can get used to not chewing and they can be a bit harsh on your tummy at first!

Thanks for that, glad i asked now or would have made a boo boo....my chemist isn't very good, so i am sure he wouldn't have told me. He said about my breath may smell because of the kt's and i said it's fine as i always chew gum and he never said a thing...it was only when i watched the dvd that it said you were not allowed it!
Just gonna ask you lot in future, you are MUCH more informative!
Thank you!

I've found the same thing to be honest hun. My chemist is a very nice lady but a bit on the dim side. Every time she converts my weight from kg to lbs she somehow makes it 2lb less than it should be. Also, not sure why they don't just switch the button on the underneath of the scales so they weigh in lbs instead of kgs lol.

This forum is definitely the place for finding out all of your bits and pieces - much more helpful and easier to access too! Parking at my pharmacy is a nightmare - have to pretend to be a Toys'R'Us customer every week.

Me and my sister got a sample of the chemist of the Vanilla flapjack and the Peanut butter one, We tried it and nearly was sick in the back of my sisters car, They are disgusting but thats just my opinion, But I would never try them again *YUK* :D

Vanilla flapjack...mmm is that suppose to be coconut :)
I loved the flapjacks both of them and they are nice mussed up with hot vanilla shake.. i used half of each for breeky...don't forget to drink more water with them as well xx

DUR* Yup you are right I did mean Coconut :p I found the coconut one a bit more nicer than the peanut butter one, I was really looking forward to trying one..Was the worst thing I have ever tasted :D

I was fine with my first flapjack, but the soup had a real problem in my stomach - it must have been the heat as I couldn't stop belching afterwards. Sorry
Stomach must not be used to warm stuff now

my goodness this is all weird

flapjacks are the food of the devil!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BE AFRAID BE VERYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY AFRAID

:D

Hi everyone,

DONT GO THERE!!!!

I just had my first flapjack this morning, it took me about an hour to eat it & i felt so full after, they're really heavy on your stomach. Not sure i like them at all but i got them as i find it difficult to have the shakes at work.

my view on flapjacks are :sign0137: i got 2 of each to try had a coconut one took meet an hour and half to eat nor even half of it binned the rest then went straight back down the chemist to change the rest it really was foul

Amanda...i woul dtry them in a few weeks...everyones taste is different and you may like em

Amanda, I'm with Nic, try them in a few weeks coz we all have different tastes and your tastes change while you are on LT.

I like the flapjacks, I can't eat them at the mo as I had a tooth out and am in real pain, and I'm really missing them! They really fill you up. They don't taste fantastic but are so easy to eat at work that I don't care!

I hated the soup the first time I tried it and haven't had it since my first week. I'm thinking I should try it again.

Gemma, I've been thinking about your pharmacist. I wonder if she makes the same mistake my one does. When she changes kgs into stone she assumes the decimals are pounds but 1 stone is 14lb not 10. Take my target weight. It is 63kg (x 2.2) which is 138.6lb (/14) or 9.9 stone. She would say that was 9 stone 9lb when it is really 9 stone 12.6lb. Maybe that is what your pharmacist is doing. Sorry for the lecture but hope it helps.

x

They improve with time and I have to have my peanut flapjack every day...it takes me ages to eat but I love the chewy texture and along with fibre clear they keep me going...

Definitely an acquired taste...my first experience I nearly threw up:sign0137:

Now I am a flapjack fan...could not be without them.

When you are use to the taste of the shakes and no longer can taste the vitamins...then you could try one as the flapjacks have a strong vitamin and mineral taste to them at first...I don't notice it now.

Thanks everyone. I might give them a go in a few weeks, I wont know unless I try. Going to try the chocolate shake too. I didn't get any this week as i was thinking about slimfast when i started and I only liked the strawberry on that, however after having a strawberry shake yesterday i discovered i hate them, LOL!!!!!! (liking the chicken soup though) x
