Fried Egg

Is it really possible to fry and egg with fry light?

Or does it end up one big gooey sticky mess?

Would it be terribly bad to fry it in oil and drain it really well?

Its not like you eat all the oil in the pan that you fry it in is it??!!!

Thanks for your reply, just cant imagine them not sticking??
Also i flick the oil on to the top of the egg to cook it quicker as I like my yoke runny, I'm thinking if you wait for it to cook through from the bottom it will end up well done wont it?

I just use a good non-stick pan and butter Fry Light - never had a problem!
Thats what i do and turn them over for a short time just to finish them off.

Or you could always have poached eggs?

I'm pretty sure that fried eggs are really low in syns though... off the top of my head... 2 syns an egg??

So if you don't like frylight ones, have fried but count the syns x

the way i do it is spray the pan, crack the eggs give it a minute on the bottom then i spray teh tops and put it under the grill as i find if you dont then the top is always undercooked and the bottom is burnt. perfect every time

just make sure you have a really good quality non stick pan and its works a treat and is lovely as you can taste egg and not oil!

I have just thrown away my frying pan as it does stick when using frylight. I really wouldn't waste my syns of Healthy Extra's on oil when you don't have to.

I bought a new non stick frying pan and it is fabulous! My fried eggs cooked with frylight are great and i like runny yoke too, just flip them over for a minute or less and they are cooked properly and the yoke is still runny!

I have got one of those griddle things that you put on top of the hob and the flat side is great for cooking eggs

I haven't tried frying with fry light, I prefer poached eggs anyway, I hate the taste of oily eggs.

I used to shallow poach my eggs. I'd put about half an inch of boiling water in the frying pan and cook it like a fried egg but in water. they are really scrummy
