Likabu's weightloss?

Hi all, I'm new to the site:wavey:.

Am gearing up to my 1st meeting on Monday, am unsure of what I weigh although I have a rough idea:cry:.

It was my other half's idea to go back to slimmingworld, we went together years ago and both lost a lot of weight. Same old story though, we both slipped back into old habits, put on our lost weight and then some.

We both want to get fit and healthy for ourselves and the sake of our 2 lovely boys aged 3 and 6. We both have fairly hectic jobs and with all of the running around that we do one would assume that we would be slimmer than we are - but our food (and drink) choices are not great at all:rolleyes:.

So any tips and pointers and general support as we start along our weightloss journey would be much appreciated.

I'm going to set up a ticker when I know for definite what I weigh. For now I am off to read everyone elses posts and get some inspiration!

Thanks for reading
Lisa

Hiya Lisa, and welcome, there are lots of ideas, recipes etc in the stickys, and the girls here are great at helping with any queries if they can, so if you get stuck at all, be sure to shout :)

Right, am going to do an online shop in a mo in preparation for Tuesday (the big starting date!). We buy lots of fresh fruit anyway, the boys love it and so do I but what else should I be stocking?

Would I be right in thinking that I would be best off getting basics like tinned toms, eggs, pasta, quorn and suchlike? From what I can remember from years ago, we preferred Green days and would only have the Original days perhapr once or twice in a week.

Any suggestions for snack things? I love crisps (crisps and breads are my weakness) so will get some French Fries as I couldn't rule out crisps from my life completely - the saddo that I am.

Any other suggestions?

If you head to the slimming world website you can print off a 7 day menu or check out the menu threads here.. this might give you some more ideas. I would invest in things like Alpen light bars (HEB) Ryvita Minis (HEB) and yes all those basics.. fill up on your free foods.

sounds like you have a good idea of what to get but emski is right, get a 7 day planner and try and stick to it and it will really kickstart your journey. and if crisps are your vice use your syns on them!!

Well, an hour to go until I go to the Slimming World meeting to be weighed for my starting point. Getting nervous now. WIll be meeting oh there, well he is always late so I will probably be done and dusted by the time he gets there.

Looking forward to getting my hands on the book though.

Not far at all. I just passed my driving test 12 days ago and am planning a trip to Shrewsbury soon. Got no sense of direction though so the sat nav may be coming with me!!

I weighed in as shown in my sig, about 4lb more than I was expecting:( but never mind.

Righto, so I think I am done eating for today. Not sure if I am allowed to keep a diary on here or not so am going to unless told otherwise!!

Today- green day
Breakfast - poached egg, wholemeal toast (hex)
Lunch - Batchelors Chinese rice
Dinner - Quorn mince, tinned toms, garlic and mixed herbs, linguine
Snacks - pickled peppers, Banana and custard mullerlight, handful of grapes, 8 Ritz crackers (6.5 syns)
Drinks - Diet pepsi, Coffee with semi skimmed milk (hex), 2.5l water

Not too bad for the 1st day, providing I don't get the munchies and go looking for anything else this evening. I shouldn't do as I am full to the top - lol!

Lisa

Well done, you've made a good start. Keeping a diary on here isn't a problem x

Thanks, well done on your weightloss so far, you are a third of the way through what you want to lose - that's great.

welcome on board Lisa - as the others have said just give us a shout if you need anything xxx

Thanks Lisa, sometimes it helps when people notice you've lost weight or are amazed at how much etc - all little confidence boosters.

Hi Lisa, I welcomed you elsewhere! Diaries are great for keeping a record of your menu's and your thoughts and feelings.

How's today going hun?

Lol - apart from having a terrible time in work, picking the boys up at 3pm and them playing up, foodwise great.

Will post my meals for the day when I decide what I'm having with my uncrispy (the ovens broken) jacket potato.

Lisa

Oh no! Broken oven! How do you cope?

:cry:Well we discovered on Sunday, so have coped so far. Have got the hob and the microwave. I have a little George Foreman on the top of the fridge so will have to get that down. It's big enough to do 2 chicken breasts at the same time so will serve a purpose.

Unfortunately we haven't got 2 pennies to rub together at the moment so will have to make do until we can save a little. The good thing about it is that even if I were tempted by the 3 pizzas that are in the freezer, I couldn't cook them anyway!
