SWITCHING FROM LL TO ATKINS

:):)Hi I hope that this time someone will reply to my thread as I posted 2 a week ago and not one single reply?? I would officially be finishing my Lighterlife journey tomorrow but am doing 2 more wks have lost 54.5lbs as of last monday and plan to do atkins starting in 2 wks time. I just want to know as I am not doing any management plan with LL what types of low carb foods may be a good transition for me as I will be going from eating a very low calorie diet to eating food!!! I would appreciate any sound advise that anyone can give me. I did do atkins about 4yrs ago and loved everything about the diet and do not have a problem with doing induction initially for 2 wks but as I am in ketosis would I need to do this or go straight into maintenance? Please can you help?? Many thanks:)

Hi, I am no Atkins expert, but thought i'd reply... I have just come off the cambridge diet and I was on the 3 shakes a day. I have gone straight into Atkins Induction even though i'm still in Ketosis, I still want to lose the weight a little quicker, once I get nearer goal (3stone to go) then i'll start upping my carbs.
I started last week, with mostly steamed fish dishes with a few green veggies as I find fish not as heavy going so it was not a big shock to my system. Still drinking loads of water too.

At weekend I introduced meat...chicken breast and frying steak, I have not had any sideaffects from going from CD to Atkins i've just felt really full after eating small amounts, which I suppose is a good thing.

weighing in on Tuesday, bit nervous, hopefully i'll have a nice loss, not expecting anything as big as CD, but it's so nice to eat again with my family.

Anyway good luck on your Atkins journey. :D

Hi,
I have no knowledge of LL, i have been doing atkins induction for 7 weeks now.
i think you should start of with the induction part of the program, at least for the 2 weeks.
Then as it says in the book, start introducing other food slowly, doing that you can find out what food causes you any problems.
I introduced flaxseed, even though under the 20g carbs and under 1000 cals, i stopped losing weight, so doing it slowly, you can omit any foods that do this.

Well done on your weight loss so far, how much more are you hoping to lose.

Just wanted to wish you luck and say congrats on your LL loss, sure if you stick to protein and veggies first and then introduce the allowed on Atkins foods that are higher in carbs you'll be fine!

Thank you all for replying I really appreciate all of your advise and encouragement. My plan is to do the induction as I find this very easy anyway. I want to possibly loose another 1-2 stone which was my initial target but it really does depend on how my body looks and not just about weight and BMI's. Will definately look at protein and lower veg first and am happy long term to look at my carb intake. I look foward to posting my journey and sharing this with you all.
