Finally managed to track down some chick pea dahl, do I just treat it as a curry and serve it with basmati rice?

Also, bought some fresh tuna, but can't decide what to cook/serve with it? I was planning on using the George Foreman grill to cook it but would salad be a bit of a boring choice?

hiya,
i love chick pea dahl.
i use 2 tins chick pea dahl, add 2 onions (fried in frylight) half red and half green peppers, mushrooms, 2 tins tomatoes, 1 extra tin chick peas and a tin of baked beans (surprisingly gorgeous). mix all together and serve with basmati or long grain rice.
the amount i make serves a family of 4 for two meals.
of course u can heat it up as it comes in the tin but its sooo much nicer if u add to it. makes a ' real ' curry

I like the sound of chick pea dahl, any ideas where I can buy it?

That recipe sounds delicious Cheryl.

Please where do you find the Chick Pea Dhal?

You could also serve it on a jacket potato aswell, with some salad.

I am yet to check out the dhal, but i am very tempted as Cheryl's recipe sounds so good :)

hiya,
U get chick pea dahl from Asda.
it is with the other tinned foods.
I took a big pan of chick pea dahl and curry and a big pot of rice into class last year and it was gone in seconds. i felt like jamie oliver at his best. lol

i find asda's chickpea dahl quite thick, so i normally add a bit of water to it when i'm heating it up and i also cook some quorn chunks and add them to it. i'm not a fan of rice, but it's really nice with noodles.

Hi - try the tuna with a ratatouille. Cook onion, peppers, courgettes (maybe some leeks), add tinned toms or passata and then some flavouring, maybe worcester sauce??

i have just made a big pot of Lentil Dahl - yummy and all free on a green day (and all mine!!!!!)
