So confused.... please help

I am new to SW & will be starting in a few days I have just purchased a copy of July's SW magazine. I have also come across a book i purchased last year, ( SW FREE FOODS...)

I have struggled with my weight for the past 15 years. I do not go out as i dislike the way i look. I weigh 17.5 stone (That was hard to type).

My life has to change and by joining this forum i have already made a great move. Now i am confused... I read a post before about SW chips eggs & beans. Is this classed as a red or green day.

I am so sorry but i cannot get my head round this.

I would appreciate anybodys guidance. Also with me weighing quite a lot which is best green or red? Or which free foods should i eat for max weigh loss.

Syn free Chips, Eggs and Beans would be green (as there is no meat).

To put simply, Green day is unlimited pasta, rice and potatoes with measured meat. Red days are unlimited lean meat with measured portion of pasta, rice and potatoes. This is in simple terms as there is much more to it but that is primarily the difference. Both days have free vegetables, fruit, quorn and fish (not 100% of the fish)
 
I weighed more than you five months ago and now I weigh in the fourteen stones - yay! The meal you describe would be green, but I guess the potato and beans could be your healthy b choices on a red day, but that would involve weighing and measuring (so would be unlikely). I do red days the most and lose well, but lots of the others have the same success with green, or with mixing both. Do which suits you the best. Have a read around the forum and you'll soon see that thers others who weigh more than you xxx

Natty, join a group, get the consultant to explain it all to you and then get stuck in! It will be the best move you ever made. I weighed more than you when I started so I know exactly how you feel. Welcome to the forum and to Sw x

hey natty - i wish i weighed 17.5 stone!!! i won't say what i do weigh as i'm far too ashamed, but when i do hit 17.5 stone i will feel like the old me again and feel quite slim!

i let myself get to a rediculous weight but i've slapped myself around the face and told myself to sort it out. i let myself get in this state, so i can bloomin' well do myself a favour and sort it out! lol

don't let your weight stop you living life - f**k everyone else and get out there and have some fun :) ...i'm bigger than you and i definately don't let it hold me back.
 
Nicky, Rainbow & Taz Thank you for the support, there is so much to read. I am sure i will get my head around it.

Taz i just do not have the confidence to join a club.. going through a bit of a tough time at the moment, Maybe in a few months. For now i am going to do my uptmost best to do SW, with the help of you guys.

Karen Ive just looked at your photos again (I looked at them a few weeks ago when you put them on) but I just wanted to re-look before I commented. But can I just say you dont look like you weigh more than 17.5 stone, Id have put you about the same as me and Im around 15 stone. In the nicest way poss .... you carry it well. Hope you get what I mean! Just be aware that the way others see you prob isnt how you see yourself. xxx

i'm 5'9" and am in proportion so i tend to carry weight well, but this has disadvantages, such as not realising how heavy you are or how much you've piled on! in those pics i'm the same weight i am now - and that's still over 20 stone ARRRRRRRRRRRRRGH!!!!!!!!!!!

(god i hope my fella never reads this thread!)
 
If I didnt know you were telling the truth Id be convinced you were lying Karen! What weight do you wanna get to then? Cos you dont wanna go too low as you obv dont need to -lol! xxx
 
I too am looking forward to getting down to 17.5 stone and then onward toward my initial target of 15 stone.. (to infinity and beyond) You can only start where you are at and you shouldnt be embarrassed - weight is such a small part of the person you are and anyone who judges me by my looks only isnt good enough to be someone I would want to know !!!
Slimming world is really easy to follow and the crew on this site are amazing - such a lot of good information is shared and their are an abundance of inspiring people, all mashed up with humour and angst - good luck and welcome.

And you have a pretty face to go with it karen. You don't look over 20 stone

Again, from the only picture you have posted, you don't look over 17 stone.

I guess it goes to show, we have no idea what 'weight' looks like!

to be honest i don't have a target weight at the moment. i'm taking it half a stone at a time and know it's going to take a while and a whole lot of effort!

i'm currently a size 24. i've lost 24 pounds and have gone from a tight 24 to a normal 24!!! ANNOYING!!!

i'd be really happy to get down to a size 16 - as i was that when i left school and looking back i had a pretty hot body (i was quite sensitive then and i was convinced i was overweight due to comments). i was sports captain at school and was nice and curvy, so to get a 29 year old version of that would be nice. lol

i'm worried that i will probably need to have excess skin cut away if i get down to that weight though :( ...but i will cross that bridge when i get there. i will slowly introduce excercise over the next year to try and tone up as i'm quite athletic under the fat, but i can see where there's already unrepairable damage, mainly my lower stomach and inner thighs.
