Is it not a good move on green days to eat pasta n sauce, you know the ready ones you can just put in the mircrowave??

Is it better to cook fresh pasta??

Also....about green days...how many of you have equal green to red days??

I am trying to cut right back on green days and have only 2 a week...

Have any of you tried and tested this??

L x:confused::confused:

I just had a pasta n sauce!:D Yum Yum. I always eat pasta n sauce, mainly cause i'm 21 and VERY lazy:p but i just can't be doing with all the faffing about with proper pasta...

I always do green as i'm a vegi- And i'm a target member now- so its okay!:D

My mum has found she seems too stay the same or gain if she does too many green days- but i think this is because she doesnt take in enough fluids... if u wanna do more green days just drink alot of fluids is my advice...

i have the pasta and sauce packets too. i also make pasta for some dishes using my rice and pasta microwave maker it only takes 10 minutes to cook the pasta in this thingy , its cool as im very lazy too and also cant cook!

i do mainly green as i cant afford the meat on reds and find it hard to make a tea out of red without just having a plate of meat.

if you change to one choice from the other i.e. reds from greens it takes your body about 2 weeks to ajust so dont expect rapid weight loss you may maintain, if you build them in gradually i think its better. try not to eat fruit straight after meat as it ferments while waiting to digest and gives you the bloats.

lol

thanks for that information...all these new tips..its great..but struggling to get my head around this site..as I cant pm..and cant see any of your before/after photos for some reason??

I am not maintaning (wish I was!!) so would you say that it is best for me to have a week of red days/and then a week of green days monkeybunny??

This sounds interesting, where do I get one of them from??

the rice makers are avaible from cheap shops like Boyes (if you have those) and also the betterware houshold catalogues that come through the door (if you get those )

if i was you i would find which plan , red or green, suits you best and stick to it. if you feel bloted on greens and like the meat more then stick to reds and just use your greens if your going out for the day cos as we all know you can grab a jacket spud easier than a steak lol

good luck

We are told that you get a greater loss if you have free as opposed to Syn-free foods, eg cooking your own pasta rather than the packets of pasta n sauce. I actually prefer to make the pasta myself. Someone in my group adds loads of veggies to her pasta n sauce to bulk it out.

As for green/red ratio, I don't lose as well on reds so I tend to stick mostly to greens

I think I loose better on red days so I am now alternating as that way I can look forward to meat on a green day or to carbs on a red day. Lx

I have mainly green days, but I have a couple of red days during the week if I fancy steak or curried mackerel on toast (yum). Sometimes I do mix 2 match as well, and I've lost weight every week (so far!). I tend to make my own meals from scratch as those packet things don't taste that nice, although I do like sainsbury's vegetable ravioli in a tin which is free on green. I don't think I could eat it often though, as it tastes fattening and I could eat lots of it.

I do enjoy the pasta n sauce as a quick lunch, like the mac n cheese, a cheese fix without the syns and i do only green days with loads of pasta, like for tea making quorn spag bol.

I sometimes cook up a big batch of something on a Sunday night then I don't have to cook so much in the week (I get home from work late).

I do only green days as I don't really eat meat (not now chicken doner & chips is off the menu!!)

i have never noticeed a difference between my losses on green or reds but i do seem to live on pasta n sauce, its cheap, its quick and its bloody lovely

OH YUM i didn't know those pasta n sauce sachets were good for green days (i also do mainly green), they look delicious.. right am off to tescos now hahaha!!!!

Try combining some of the pasta and sauce packets to get different flavours!!

Get some halved cherry tomatoes and diced cucumber .. let the P & S go cold and stir in to get some different textures in there.

Mmmm mmmm mmm I am salivating over here lol! I would make the pasta n sauce adding big chunks of vegetables - carrots, cauliflower, courgettes, broccoli - yum!

MMM I like the macaroni cheese ones made with water instead of milk & low fat grated cheddar ( from my A choices I can have 84g if I use both!!!) then grill it so it goes all crispy on top, its like actual full fat macaroni & cheese mmmm x

I like making sauce myself but keep jars in for lazy days. Dont forget if a jar is 12 syns and there are 4 of you thats 3 syns a serving! Not bad!

i occassionally have cheese and brocolli pastansauce but bulk it out with some quick cook pasta, mushrooms and quorn chunks. very filling.

i definately prefer to make pasta sauces from scratch though and my favourite pasta is linguini - with cheese melted on the top from healthy extras.
