Excersise and Cramp

Since I've started swimming and aqua I keep getting cramp in my feet which is so annoying.

Any tips on how I can stop it from happening?
I eat bananas before as I've heard potassium is good for cramp
 
I get it too at karate. At the end when we bow-out we have to sit with our feet under us and I get it bad sometimes. I used to find I got it at swimming too. I don't know what causes it or how to get rid of it so if anyone knows I would also appreciate the answer!
 
I drink a litre of diet tonic water daily for night cramps, Lots of people drink it for cramp relief, it does work :)
 
I've been told a lack of magnesium causes cramps? perhaps try a vitamin.
