hi guys

just thinking ahead.....if i come off ss and go straight onto a low cal portion controlled diet will i put weight on before it starts coming off again? i know i should go through steps but i know i prob wont!!! i dont have the patience!!!

xx

I think you would probably gain weight that way. I think following the steps on CD is advisable not that I have much experience on this as I have only been doing this for 12 weeks and gained 1 pound this week because I ate a little more than I should have done. I think one has to be very careful about portion control as my 1 pound gains shows.

If you go straight back to old habits you will put weight on .Going through the plans is easy and if you do them for a week at a time you will get through them quickly .I have been maintaining for almost 2 month now not long but I do know I still have a lot to learn but without the plans I would be back to square one and out of control.I have just got back from 2 weeks in tenerife and eaten well and drunk too much but still with a few sensible choices learnt while doing the steps up have only put on 3lb:eek: so try stick to them hun they are worth while.I am back on to reduced calorie diet but hope to be back at goal within 2 weeks .Hope this helps good luck with your journey xxx

I would definately recommend going through the Cambridge steps and ideally as slow as possible, this allows your body to get used to food again and also introduces carb back into your body in a controlled manner.

The whole point of the diet is obviously to maintain your new slimmer body and experience says that those who go on to maintain well are those that follow the maintenance so can't recommend it enough.

After you then finish maintenance then a lower calorie, lower fat diet is ideal for keeping that new figure.

I'm thinking of going vegan when I finish this diet - I've been veggie for a long time but I want to make a complete change and I think that might work for me.

I have also been considering JUDDD - I think I could live with that.

Whatever, having had great success with LL last year I maintained for months but about 3 months ago I lost the plot and started tucking into mid-afternoon bikkies at work - I know it was stress related as was my tendency to sink a bottle of plonk most nights - missing the gym due to long working hours also added to my misery and after only about 10/12 weeks I had to 'hang up' my size 10 trousers and squeeze into size 12 (and I mean squeeze).

I'm nearly back to 'normal' now and I have sworn never to that to myself again.
