Hi Everyone,
I’m new on here so please be gentle with me!
I’m 28, male and live in Luton in Bedfordshire, England.

I am starting to get a bit worried about my weight.
I currently weight in at 15 stone 4 pounds, which I
think is really odd. I exercise almost everyday plus
I cycle atleast six miles a day ( six days a week).
But in the last three weeks I have shot up by almost a stone.
I have been eating more healthy than I have for years and have cut 70% of all the bad food / rubbish I would usually eat out but
for some reason I have put weight on not lost it!

And I just checked my BMI which is 34.5, which means I’m
obese!!! I have also been a little tubby but now it’s official I’m obese.
Not happy right now L

Hi Boomer, welcome to Minis. You have come to the right place, we all have the same goal and this site is brilliant for support. I cant really comment on why the weight gain.. could it be due to muscle gain as muscle weighs more than fat. are you looking more toned?

Hi there and welcome - muscle weighs more than fat - athletes and body builders etc can't use the BMI as an indicator. Do you go to a gym - maybe you could arrange to have you body fat % checked as well as it sounds as though you have a very healthy lifestyle and are doing all the right things. what height are you out of interest?

My legs and arms are getting bigger,
I have been doing lots of weights the last
couple of months so maybe that’s it.
But my tummy is still a little round L

I am only five foot six so I’m not very tall
for a guy.

I think you have answered your own question, if you are doing weights then you are probably getting more buff :p.

You do sound fairly healthy anyway !!

Good luck xx

As you have put the weight on very quickly maybe you should go see your GP for a check-up - they might be able to do your BF too. You could also run past what you're eating with them and they would be able to give you some nutritional advice.

Most blokes do carry any excess weight round their tummy - my bloke stopped drinking beer/cider in the week and that seemed to make a difference - not that I'm saying you're a drinker!!!!!

And hey - all the best things come in small packages!!!

Hi and welcome. If you are doing weights then you are bulking up which will be why you are gaining weight. have you thought about following a tried and tested eating plan?

welcome boomer i agree with all the ladies comments you sound as though your getting lots of excercise so watch your food for a week or so and see what happens then good luck

Hi and Welcome. I'm with Carolanski and think you should maybe consult your GP (probably just precaution) and also with Taz cos although I do not follow a plan I know that for some people it is the only way forward. Good luck x

Check out Martyn's thread "Big Boys Need Love Too" and get talking to another guy.
