Speed of weight loss

Hey everyone, was just sitting here thinking about losing weight on LT and wondered why it is that people lose such varying amounts each week. Obviously I realise that some people have more weight to lose and therefore it will probably come off faster, but just wondered why, when we are all consuming the same amount of calories in a day, the variation is so massive. Do you think it is down to speed of metabolism or how much exercise people do/how much water they drink?

I agree, I think it is a combination of things. But it is also worth noting that on a low carb diet some people may eat thousands of calories where others eat only a few hundred (although I believe this is not advisable). This may also have an impact although supposedly it shouldnt, and medical trials do suggest that most people on Low Carb/Atkins diets seem to be eating less calories than people on general low calorie diets, most likely due to ketosis.
