hi
just thought id introduce myself, i started SW last week after 2 months of calorie counting. got about 2 and half stone to lose in total but anythings good. work as a nurse practitioner so should really know better than to eat c***, but i think health professionals are some of the worst eaters(!)
am doing it online but find the website pretty confusing.
i guess im gonna have to get some of the books so that i can try new things...
anyway, better see some patients

Welcome and good luck! Throw calorie counting out the window because SW will only confuse you if you think in terms of calories. Any questions and we're all here to help - just ask!

Nice to see you here :) I go to meetings, but I find the normal website pretty confusing, its very hard to find the syns of things. I prefer going to meetings, its nice to see the same faces every week and hearing how they've got on. We had our first tasting session the other week, that was fun.

on second thoughts......

thanks for your support everyone.... tbh i wish id had the bottle to go to classes, i dont find the site very useful for the £60 i paid. i know the groups are supportive but was expecting a lot of my patients to be there...
btw i only lost 1 lb in first week ,my sis who is doing it loosely lost 4 lbs, i know every1s different but im wondering if there wa anything i could have done differently, or any tips.
i didnt have cheese every day or milk for that matter, apart from that i think i stuck to it.

Hi and welcome. SW is a great plan, you should get that weight off in no time x

Hi, Im also new to the forum, this is my 2nd time doing SW, did the diet 18mths ago and got to my target weight, but unfortunately have put half of it back on so here we go again in preperation for my holidays, my husband is also helping me and eating the same things which makes the diet a lot easier, he cant believe how much he can eat !!!!!. So good luck and stick to it, it really works.

welcome! Im a nurse too and every single person I work with is overweight...I blame it on the constant supply of chocolate from relatives!!!

Hi, I know it's difficult walking into the class the first time but I really think it is worthwhile. Maybe you could try one a little bit away from home so you won't know anyone. I really appreciate the support I get in the class, and the consultant can check your food diaries over and see if you're going wrong. I'm sure you'll get there in no time at all.

I also joined on line. I am going to carry on until the 3 months are up and then join a group because I think I will be able to get more advice on a 1 2 1 basis

but i think health professionals are some of the worst eaters(!)

Ha! Couldn't agree more here! When I worked on antenatal and postnatal ward after I qualified as a midwife, there was chocolate on tap there! You'd think being on your feet for 9 hours of a shift would mean you'd lose weight easily!

Must be the stress ;)

Wishing you lots of luck and success on your adventure!
