Hi everyone :D I'm Alison, I'm 37 and I live in Glasgow, Scotland:)
April 2007 I was at my absolute heaviest ( 21st 4lbs :(), Asked my GP for Xenical ( for the 2nd time I might add ), and was instead referred to the Weight Management service at my local hospital. By the time I got my appointment with them, I'd already lost 14 lbs, and I continued to lose about another 14 lbs with them, however over Christmas, with 6 weeks between meetings, I put on that 14lbs and until 8 weeks ago, I was yo yoing all over the blooming place  8 weeks ago I went back to my docs and this time came away with a prescription for Xenical, so far I've lost 20.5 lbs ( am now 18st 10lbs :D), am doing more exercise than I've ever done in my life and for the first time in a longgg time I feel positive about myself :)
I'm still going to the weight management service every month, and I see my GP every month too, I just feel like I get no support from anywhere else though.
Look forward to getting to know you all :)

I am in the southside too, Cardonald! Thanks for the goodluck, somehow i have a feeling i will need it! LOL.
I only just found this forum myself and it really is a fab place for support. I have written a diary for my weighloss journey, feel free to read it, add your own too so people can support you and motivate you. I never had this forum last time i tried to conquer my weight, and this time i feel i will succeed!!

i will change that last part! I KNOW i will succeed! lol x

Good for you! And I whole heartedly agree with you. I know I will do this, I know that when I get to target weight ( haven't even set that yet lol), that I will not go back to my old ways of binge eating and yo yo dieting. I just couldn't face returning to how my life used to be.

When it comes to food we are our own worse enemies! No-one forces us to eat and "normal skinny" people just dont understand! They think its as simple as just not stuffing our faces with cream cakes and chocolates and go running every night!!! But it can be torture! Your mind plays games with you and you really need to understand WHY you overeat. For me, i overeat for ANY reason, sad, happy, scared, bored, tired, lonely, excited, HUNGRY, which is really the only reason i should eat! I am sick of living to eat when i should be eating to live! I need to change my habits for good! This yo-yo is going back in its drawer, im going to get my weight onto an even keel and keep it there! I will beat this ADDICTION to food!!! lol

Diane xx

i think the key to helping u is support ........ welcome :)

Thanks becky and smee :D
Jellybabie, totally agree with you. I went to bed the other night dreaming of cheese on toast  I love cheese, but don't buy it therefore I can't eat it :D
I've found on the Xenical that I find it easy to stick to 3 meals a day, and if I do get peckish between meals, then fruit is what I'll snack on. I also don't go anywhere without my food diary.....if it goes in my mouth it gets written down :D

:welcome: Alison. Everyone is SO supportive here so keep coming and enjoy your journey. Well done so far :)
