Hi!

Ive been on the 1000kcal plan now for 2 weeks and have lost 10lbs. Im so pleased. I didnt expect to have lost so much on a higher plan. Ive adapted the plan slightly...... I had peppers and onion in my salad and Ive used some garlic pepper. I know Im not supposed to but it dosent seem to have affected my losses so far.

Is there a reason why we cant have these?? Im just wondering am I on borrowed time and that they will eventually slow me down or are they like the diet coke issue...they affect some and not others??

Onions have a higher proportion of sugars in them .... I'm guessing the same re peppers. You maybe on borrowed time - or you be fine! Stick to it if you want and if you have a week where you STS, drop them and see if that makes a difference.

Thanks Beverly I didnt realise! How do I find out that kind of information?? Is there any book you would recommend??

Ill have to steer clear of them from now on ;)

Here's some value for onions and peppers: green, red, yellow;

Onions
Raw, average (1 medium/180g) = 55kcal - 0.3 fat / nutrition values per 100g/100ml = 31kcal, 1.3 prot, 6.0 carb, 0.2 fat, 1.4 fibre
Red raw,average (1 med/180g) = 66kcl - 0.4 fat / nutrition values per 100g/100ml = 37kcal, 1.2 prot, 7.9 carb, 0.2 fat, 1.5 fibre

Peppers
Green, raw, unprepared, average (1 medium/160g) = 24kcl - 0.5 fat / nutrition values per 100g/100ml = 15kcal, 0.8 prot, 2.6 carb, 0.3 fat, 1.6 fibre

Red, raw, unprepared, average (1 medium/160g) = 51kcl - 0.6 fat / nutrition values per 100g/100ml = 32kcal, 1.0 prot, 6.4 carb, 0.4 fat, 1.6 fibre

Yellow, raw, unprepared, average (1 medium/160g) = 42kcl - 0.3 fat / nutrition values per 100g/100ml = 26kcal, 1.2 prot, 5.3 carb, 0.2 fat, 1.7 fibre

So quite high in calories and carbs :eek:

Hope this help! :)
