Cooking with alcohol ??

I've got lots of fat free recipes which involve cooking with alcohol eg pork in cider or beef in red wine etc. However I can't find any mention of this on the syns calculator. Can anyone advise??

Surely if you burn off all the alcohol your just left with unsweetened grape or apple juice which can't be that bad for something with loads of flavour and no fat??

On the other hand I could just drink it :p

I think you would have to count it as syns, not really sure hun maybe some of the other will know.

Lol - exactly. No point in wasting good alcohol cyns. Maybe I could just inhale all the alcohol as it evaporates. That way I get a double whammy - yummy casserole and my drink fix too.

I tend not to bother adding it to meals - it doesn't make the greatest difference for everyday meals. Obviously if I was cooking for an occasion then I would keep it in, but if it's just me and family i'd rather drink it than waste sins in dinner!
