food labels!

as i am new to all this just wanted to clarify something! i spend hours reading labels now in shops which is fine but i want to check im doing it right! first thing is obviously the calories but i also check the bit that says carbohydrate that sugars and make sure thats low but what is low what is a good figure to aim at im assuming anything under 3g? and also the fat what figure is ok and whats too high? maybe a bit stupid but its been so long since ive done this im not too sure! thanks x
 
I have read in some places before that the food label cannot really be thrusted because there are some tricks used by the manufacturers to bypass FDA's "healthy food" label. I will help you to find this website, please give me some time.
