I know this isn't the right place to post this, but I've just been given the Paul McKenna I can make you thin CD's...worth a listen or not? what do you think?

Am quite happy weight watchering away, but maybe its not what I eat, it's why I eat....

am feeling slightly confused today!

I'd say it's worth a go. I definitely eat for different reasons. I've come to the conclusion that my eating is kind of like a form of self harm cos I do it to make myself supposedly feel better but it's detrimental to my health.

It's not so bad nowadays cos I've realised that I need to be kind to myself and that it really will make me feel better if i go for a walk or see a friend instead of filling my face.

Anyway, point was that i think that there's lots of psychology involved with being overweight so the CD might help with that. Sorry for waffle! xxx

thanks clair,

i've been thinking about listening to them all day, so will settle down tonight for a good old listen and see what i think...afterall, i've got nothing to lose by listening have i?

(now if i start squawking like a chicken you will tell me won't you?)

Lol...I'd say try anything once! Who knows, there really is no harm getting to know the reasons or emotions behind your eating. I started this bad pattern of eating when I was berieved and then it was a kind of fat-mask to hide behind! Everyone has their own reasons. I suppose if you can identify it, you can put a stop to it!
Let us know if it does any good?! x

ooooh really interesting!!! would you please keep us posted on how you get on? xx I've often thought about this and the reasons I've had such a struggle with my weight... (besides the fact I like pizza :D)

xx

Oh I had that..It's great for sending you off to sleep!!! I used to put it on in the bedroom at bedtime and I haven't heard it to the end yet. Maybe that's why it didn't work for me! I think it's definitely worth a try alongside something like weight watchers. Let us know how you get on. xxx

I dont think its very good as a weight loss programme on its own but in conjunction with something like WW it might work well.

Do keep us posted.

hi ive lost 2 1/2 stone on it effortlessly but beware this took 16 months so if youre after a quick fix it may not be for you xx

Well I have to say I have found the cd's very interesting...and whether its down to the fact that I've listened to them all, or that I have got my "stick to the diet" head on, but I haven't been getting the boredom nibbles!

Will keep you posted.

Paul McKenna's "I Can Make You Thin System" uses the principle of Intuitive Eating. Google it if you want to know more. I use it in conjuction with the WW Core Plan because they both use the Hunger Scale and work on the same principles and I find they complement each other. I listen to the CDs and lot and on a day when I will be going to the gym I use the exercise mind programming technique ove lunch time and I come out of the trance feeling great.

I have also used the techniques to deal with cravings. Now when I look at a bar of chocolate I wretch at the thought of eating it. I haven't so much as touched a packet of crisps (my big weakness) or chocolate or pizza in two months. The techniques also leave me greatly motivated. I wouldn't find the weight loss thing half as straight forward if it wasn't for the cds.

I genuinely believe in my heart of hearts that I will reach my target weight.

I have it but i haven't really listened to it more then once, mainly because i can't do the visualising stuff, was thinking about putting it on at bedtime as apparently it'll still work because your brain still registers stuff when you're asleep, does anyone no if that is true?

I tried this and his voice just kinda freaked me out a bit. I listened at night and then couldn’t sleep

I have since been using the Anthony Robins program and its totally weird, I never seem to be able to stay awake for the entire cd, however in the last few weeks I do not feel the need to pig out as much and always leave something on my plate (so unlike me) :D

So I do believe these things work, it’s just a case of finding what works for you.

I personally cannot wait to get to the last couple of cds in the pack, WHO KNOWS what he will have me doing or believing

Good luck and keep us posted
