Hi,

At this point in time I have not yet started my Slimming World diet...again. I lost 20lb with them end of last year, but in the meantime I went on a long holiday visting my parents in South Africa, and have picked it all back up again. Since I came back, I just seem have given over and I'm eating anything and everything in sight. I just can't seem to get motivated to start and I know I absolutely have to since I developed quite a severe back problem. Also diabetes runs heavy in our family, both my mother and late grandmother had it. I need to lose about 6 stone!

So I thought maybe through joining this forum I might tap some inspiration and motivation from you lot lovely people.

I'll get my ticker up, maybe that will get me going :p

:welcome:

This forum is great for support and ideas. You'll get addicted. Get a ticker, set yourself small goals and you will have lost your first stone in no time. I was over 18 stone 4 weeks ago and according to the scales this morning in now just under 17. So happy.

You Will do it hun!
:hug99:

It really does, wont be long until you have moved down a few stone.

hey hun, welcome to the forum.
hope you enjoy the diet as much as i do and if your struggling were always here to help!
like vicky said youll be down a few stone in no time!

HI THERE I'M STARTING BACK ON THE DIET MYSELF TODAY SO WANT TO WISH YOU LOADS OF LUCK WITH YOUR SLIMMING SUCCESS.......EVERYONE ON HERE IS SO INSPIRATIONAL AND FULL OF GREAT IDEAS XX

I know exactly where your coming from! I started on SW in Jan and lost over a stone in 6 weeks. Then I came off it for a few weeks as I found I was pregnant. I lost the baby and decided to come straight back on it again so started last Monday.

Was doing really well until Sat when I went out shopping with my mate, had lunch in town (all day breakfast ) then had a mixed kebab for dinner  then went out dancing, then had a chicken kebab on the way home  (no alcohol, cos I am tee-total).

I will get my butt in gear tomorrow again but could kick myself for giving in today.

I thought to myself that it's ok cos I will use my flexible syns so I got straight back on track yesterday.

The today, I ate pasta for mid morning and then had loads of running about to do, I got hungry, then came home and ate nearly a whole malt loaf! I just can't seem to bring back the determination I had in January!

Hi there, we're starting at the same time, I have so much to lose I don't even want to put a figure on it. You are one step ahead of me though-you have a ticker!

Hi Morgana welcome to the forum and to SW. There is loads of advice and support here so visit regularly x

hi morgana,

welcome to the forum - it can become an addiction!!!

i was in the same boat as you not long ago. i joined slimming world (for the 5th time) last summer and lost 1 stone, then i went to the south of France for 2 weeks and only put 1.5lbs on...brilliant! but when i got back my parents went away for a week and my boyfriend and i lived on takeaways all week. i knew i'd probably put on at least 3 lbs that week, so i decided i would return the following week, but i ate more crap and couldn't face returning to class.

i my job i was placed at a lone working scheme and was binging at work...as no-one could see how much i was eating. i got into a cycle and a typical breakfast for me was vegetable samosa, 3 chocolate bars, 3 packs of crisps, a cake, maybe a sandwich and 2 cans of pepsi. for lunch i'd eat more crap and for dinner i'd eat takeaways, pizzas, etc. when i got to work each morning i'd literally be craving sugar and fat. i put 2 stone on in 3 months and because it went on so quick i really felt it.

i waddled around for a few more months feeling sorry for myself, then in april i went back to slimming world... i want to lose at least 8 stone in weight and need to lose 12 and it feels like i'll never get there. but i am taking it slowly - setting myself small targets of half a stone and getting into the next stone down.

i'm definately enjoying it more this time around. i'm cooking more from scratch, not letting myself guess-timate sins and have found this forum...which is BRRRRRRRRRRRRILLLLLLLLLIANT!

good luck and try and come on here every day ... especially when you feel you're struggling.

Oh wow! I know this is stupid bit you guys are almost moving me to tears with your stories just because I know exactly how you feel! I am SO glad I found you lot..

SpaceAngel - I am sorry about your baby, it can't be easy for you.
As for binging on your malt loaf, I know..I find that, when I cheat, I cheat good, and can throw away a week's weight loss in a single sitting. I think it's most people's problem. Then you're disappointed in yourself and sometimes it just goes into a downward spiral from there. Saying *no* is the hardest thing to do!

SandyLee - Get your ticker up and don't worry about how much you have to lose, I don't think anyone here will judge you on that! :p

Taz - Thank you very much, I have gotten so much from this forum already and I only started today! :)

Karen - I know, when you have a lot to lose it can feel like an impossible mountain to climb. How is it going so far since you've joined again? Thank you for your story, it's really moving. It's liberating in a way to be honest about what you've been eating and how much of it, it makes you not want to do it again, it puts things perspective. Good luck to you too. I really feel through this forum and each other's support we can all get there in the end :)

At the moment I am battling with the 14 stone mark. I just want to get into the 13's but when I get frustrated about still seeing 14 on the scales I just think back to the beginning when I was nearly 18 stone. I know I will NEVER see those scales reading 17 again and that provides some comfort. It is a long hard slog but it is sooooo worth it
