have I lost too much?

Hi guys me again, right so I weighed myself yesterday, I'm on thyroid tablets and slimming world but I've lost a almost 2 stone in a week  I saw my doctor on friday and she says its alot but the tablets are helping the weight come off. I've used to different sets of scales and I'm just wondering if its normal to lose alot of weight in the first week?

I do look slimmer, and for someone as big as I am you need to lose alot of weight to show. So now I'm 19s 5 and I was 21 s 1 . A little reassurance please lol.

Oh and I'm not starving myself, just drinking alot of water, on my thyriod medication and slimming world lol. eek! x

I honestly dont know hun. Did you ask the nurse or doctor? My doctor is maybe going to start me on the tablets too because my levels are either borderline or just above. Give them a call to put your mind at rest. Oh and bloody well done!!!

Wow, i would say enjoy it, surely its not something that will keep happening? Just keep a close eye on yourself, and make sure you are getting all the right protiens etc to stay healthy. Get buying some smaller clothes!!

Hi Tabby Twinkles,

You must of been retaining a lot of water and this would explain the two stone weight loss as most of it was probably water retention and as your own Doctor has already said that the tablets are helping the weight come off.

I think you might be the record holder for the most weight lost in a week.

We have had a good few around 18lb and I think we have had someone lose around 24lb, but I am not sure exactly, if I am wrong someone will hopefully correct me:)

That is two stone less weight you have to carry around and it is bound to helping you feel lighter in yourself.

Well done it is a great start to your weight loss journey.:happy096:

aww thank you guys !:D The doctor said I must have been retaining lots of water, I did only used to drink a glass a day compared to my 3 litres a day last week lol.

yay shopping trip lol:p. Oh and Vicky make sure if they dont give you tablets you get monitered. My thyroid level was so low I could have literally gone into a coma any day, and I feel fantastic now I'm on the tablets, really changed my life. thanks guys! xx

Well I went to the Doctors tonight and I now have been diagnoised too. Yippee. I have waited 10 years to be told what I have known for ages. I start my meds in the morning. Just wondered what level of drugs your on? They have started me off on a low dose and I can double it every 2 weeks.

As long as the loss doesn't continue at that rate I wouldn't worry about it and just enjoy it!

Tablets are not right way to weight loss. After weight loss, weight will be regain immediately. So don't take the tablets,Do only exercise and maintain your diet and drink water. You will be see your weight after 15 or 20 days. You will be feel very happy.

It's Very Normal If You Have Alot Of Weight To Lose That It Comes Off Very Quickly, Yes A Good 70% Or More Is Water But Weight Loss Works In A Cycle;

Lot Of Water
Some Fat
Plateu
Some Water
Some Fat
Plateu
Etc.....

Well Done. Stay Focused And Enjoy The Shopping Trip!!!!!

We need to take this medication (from our Doctor) as our bodies dont make enough of a chemical called thyroxine. Most people make the correct amount, some make too much or too little. We make too little so have to balance out thyroxine level with medication.

CARRY ON WITH TABLETS you need them well done on the loss and yes it will slow down you may need your dose adjusting at some point x

im on thyroxine too but never lost that much in 1 week ive been diagnosed 5 yrsd now and still struggling getting the weight off ive got a hospital app on thurs as my docs not happy with my levels and as im on 200mg app not good havent a clue what the hosps gonna do ??

Lol thanks everyone, I was never going to stop taking my tablets just worried that I'd lost too much weight lol!

Well done Vicky, I started 6 weeks ago on 25mg and now I'm on 50mg and will be going up more after my blood test next week. The doctor said she likes to gradually increase doses because a sudden increase in Thyroxine can have side affects like if you were on speed lol . My mum is a nurse and said I'll probably be on 200mg soon. What dose are you on? In a week you will feel so much better, more engergetic :D

KittyKat dont worry too much, hard not to I know, I found that doing exercise helped me lose weight in the past, even a little bit everyday. xx

I started my diet at 25 st 5lbs and lost 1 and half stone in my first week ......but most of it is water .........so the loss will probably be smaller next week.
Well done anyway......and as you have seen your dr I dont think you have anything to worry about.

Im on 50mg for 2 weeks then 75mg after. I have to go back in 2 months for bloods and then it will be reviewed unless I go back before that. Im happy with a low dose at the start.
I doubt it will affect my weight loss but i'll keep you informed hun.

1st weeks loss also depends on what you ate before you started the plan. For example, if you lived off fast food then started dieting the dramatic change in diet would produce a larger loss than if you were just eating small amounts of the wrong foods beforehand

wow. that's amazing. and it's great that you're feeling so much better in yourself. well done hon :D
