Advice please

Hmmmmmm!
I have been invited to a party (Yay!!!) The person who is having the party has put on the invitation "No presents please". Some of my friends are buying presents anyway as they say you can't not buy anything. It may sound stupid but I don't know what to do - is it rude not to, or is it rude to take one when asked not to - I dont know!!

maybe its a polite way of saying they want money instead lololo

OMG!!! thats worse - how much do you give :(

take a bottle insted ;)

thanks everyone for your help x

When I got married I asked for no presents as we have everything we want/need and are trying to get rid of all the clutter in our flat. I would have been a little annoyed if people ignored my request and gave us more stuff to further clutter our home. No presents means no presents. Get a gift voucher , about £20 is about the norm depending on how well you know the person. If you don't know them too well just take a bottle

I went to a wedding recently - they said no presents also. I went to the wedding and adhered to their request. After the wedding I sent them a card and a bottle of champagne to say what a lovely day we had - perhaps that's an option. They have put no present for a reason x

thanks guys for your advice :)
