indian resturant

monkeys bunny

need 2get my head into it
hi guys,

iv been invited out tonight for a leaving due to an indian resturant. im having a 'nothing day' so i can have either red or green tonight. i dont like spicy and i hate fish. my fav' meat is chicken and i hardly like any veg' just the normal carrots brocolli colly, no peppers, onions etc, basically if the veg gives the food flavour i dont like it :D

so any ideas on what is best for a fussy SW eater like me in an indian resturant?

thank you

x:wave_cry:

That's a difficult one. Sorry I can't help but I'm sure someone will be along soon to help. No matter the prob/question someone out there can help. Hope u hav a great nite.

Im not really sure cause im not really into indians (meals not men) but I know it would be better to go for a tomato based sauce instead of a creamy one. Sorry im not much help, im Irish, all we eat is spuds lol

A dry chicken tikka with salad and mint sauce, is about your best bet, the only other thing I can think of that is not to spicy at an Indian restaurant is a naan bread but at a whopping 20 syns it's best avoided me thinks!

Why don't you go for chicken tikka and salad. Thats tasty and yet not too spicy and the salad goes with really nicely. You could add a spoonful of steamed rice too if you liked!

i know i love nann bread...well i love any bread really lol.....be having a plate of boiled rice at this rate. typical i get asked out when iv just jumped back on the wagon :D

you're screwed!!! one of indian foods main ingrediants is onion!

try lentil or chickpea dahl - that's really nice, not spicy and won't have any veg in it.
if you had this you could add plain rice for free if you stay on a green day.

you might like tarka dahl - but the sauce is made with butter, which probably wouldn't be a good idea!

P.s You could start with a pappadom and chutneys, dips etc. whatever you choose enjoy the evening.

ha ha thank you.

can i just ask, now i know im being silly but, what is chickpea dahl...i guess its made with chickpeas but what does it look like? how does it arrive...if you know what i mean.

when ever i normally have an indian i have butter chicken cos im normally on a downer and stuffing SW. but i really want to be good and keep on track, seeing as i only really started again yesterday!

chickpea dahl is a curry made with chickpeas. i find the taste quite mild and buttery - even though there's no butter in it.

asda do tins of it in their tinned veg aisle and it's free on a green day - it's VERY filling too.

Exactly - flexi syns are ace.

I normally have dry chicken tikka, but it comes with salad and an omlette on top. Ok, they probably cook the omlette in a little oil, but at least it'll fill you up so stop you eating naan bread etc.

Good luck x

right then, so the resturant didnt do the chickpea dahl thingy so went with the 'get some side dishes' idea, i had rice with mushroom in it, a chanan mussala which was chickpeas in a tommato sauce & baby new potatoes with spinach. cant see this being tooooo bad apart from what they cook things in of course so going with 6 syns for that, do you agree?

but then of course i became weak and had a pudding. i had vanilla ice cream in a some bowl (i think worked out about 3 scoops very maximum) topped with 3 chocolate truffles (you know those little ones covered in the chocolate hundres and thousands)....so any thoughts on syns for that?

Sorry, I can't help you with the syns. I ate too much at a Thai restaurant last night, but I'm just calling it flexi syns and forgetting about it. Next time you have an Indian, the chicken tikka biriani is only 12.5 syns on a green day and is very tasty. You get lots too!
