Hi all:)

My name is Maureen and this is my first post. I've been lurking around for 2 days reading the posts and checking out the weight loss pictures. Well done to everyone who loss or are currently losing weight. I want to start a weight loss programme myself, but I'm not sure which one CD or LL. Can anyone give me advice on who to use. I work part-time(30 hrs per wk) so cost will be a factor in my decision. Thanks Maureen

Hi Maureen

Welcome to minimins. Im in ireland so wouldnt really know the price difference between them but think cd is cheaper than LL. Im on cd, hope to see a around soon. Why dont you post a thread in the LL section and the cd section to get other peoples ideas. I think cd is roughly 35pounds per week in the uk :)

Hi Maureen,

:welcome:

Welcome to MiniMins and I hope you will make yourself:)

LL and CD work on the same principles and the difference between the two is on LL you receive group CBT which looks at your reason behind your habits and food issues.

It is the CBT that costs the extra.

For more information of how our members find LL you would need to post a thread in this forum and ask them who are actively doing LL what they think.

You could do the same in the CD forum.

CD

Cambridge Diet Forum - MiniMins.com - Weight Loss Support Forum

On CD you have a variety of different plan options to choose from and a bigger product range of flavours.

You do have a counsellor and the level of service you receive varies on each counsellor.

You also have Lipotrim Diet, which is very like LL but without the counselling and it is done through your local participating Pharmacy.

No plan options, you stay on the diet without a beak until you reach goal or a healthy BMI.

Four flavours to choose from and flapjacks to chew. Best described as the no frills vlcd.

W8 is a new vlcd which is gaining popularity and again you would need to ask those who are on it what they think.

W8 (Formerly Weight Matters) - MiniMins.com - Weight Loss Support Forum

You can buy this direct online from W8 or you might have a consultant near you...as I said it is pretty new.

I am not sure of the costs as some of the diets like Lipotrim and CD vary price wise around the country.

Hi Maureen,
I think that LL is now £68 pw and CD is £35 and others have already mentioned the services they offer/forums available - but have you looked at W8? It offers something midway and you can also buy online, consultancy is free, and it comes in at £49pw. I look after the North Kent area, but I'm happy to chat it through (07990 600789) or you may like to check out the forum on their website www.allaboutw8.co.uk Hope that helps, good luck whichever option you choose.
